I like the particular type of diamond in SCFC’s list that includes players that had played for some historically illustrious clubs in the highest division.
Martin Hayes, Peter Bodak, Gary Chivers, Steve Mardenborough, Terry Connor, Derek Parlane, etc.
Once playing for teams like Arsenal, Rangers, Leeds, Celtic, Wolves, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United. They did rather end up a damp squib in comparison with the expectancy they arrived with! I would like to add 'Des Trick' to the list but not from any footballing ability judgment (Didn't he mark John Barnes once?) but solely down to the fact he had a name more suited to an end-of-pier magician than a professional footballer! |  |
