The image he posted shows an empty road with the following text:
"That we sometimes leave. And not precisely because we want to do it. We must. And do not say it's cowardly. Very brave you have to be. -Defreds-"
Hmmm, interesting. Even stranger, Viera and teammate David Simon posed like Neymar/Pique with the same infamous "se queda" (he stays) caption later that day. Pique has come out and said that he knew Neymar was leaving when he posted that. I wonder if that's happening here? This is teammate Bigas' take on it (from the second link):
"Jony looks happy, as usual. I think he's had offers but we know what he's like, he is a club man and a house-man, I have not seen anything strange, I see him as always. If it were for me, to stay here all my life."
The third link I provided refers to Viera's summer as a "soap opera" resulting from the "offensive of the Premier", and states that Viera has a "pending summit" with Las Palmas' president over his contract. That seems to have been the case for weeks now, so that is quite interesting too.
Taken altogether, I have no idea what the truth is. We'll all know in a few days, I guess. I hope it ends with Viera holding up our shirt.

Blackpool were top of "the greatest league in the world by far" (not sure who we are wuoting here btw) too at one stage. Your point?
Burnley will be among the favourites for the drop next season. Your analytical skills regarding league position and quality largely mirrors your analytical skills regarding league transition and stat based comparison - non existent.
Nice to know Burnley have clearly fought off competition from Real, Barca, PSG and Man City for this amazing talent. Incredible to think he is potentially going to slot in next to - and match - the likes of Jack Cork or Jonjo Shelvey - two cast offs from us not deemed good enough. Anyone would think he was wildly over exaggerated
I know you're being facetious with your final paragraph, but it's going too far.
I've no great learning either way in whether we sign Viera or not, but to suggest he's not worth looking at because Burnley and Newcastle want him is poor reasoning
City/PSG/Real/Barca operate on a completely different level to everyone else and define themselves by league titles and the Champions League, not survival and the occasional cup run. They're after the top players on the planet. By your logic, Bony - who looks a level above everyone else on the few occasions he plays - is rubbish because he sunk without trace at City and we should judge him because he lines up alongside Wayne Routledge.

Again, people love to misquote me. Nowhere in that whole paragraph did I say he is not worth going after.
My point isn't and never has been that we shouldn't sign him. My point is we shouldn't sign him for €30m. If he is "a bargain at €30m" then the likes of Barca and Real WOULD be after him is the point, especially when he then is apparently available for £18m a few months later, and big teams that stockpile talent in the PL certainly would be.
The fact they are not interested suggests he is nowhere near as good as this troll has been making out every week ad nauseum.
Wilfired Bony did not really play for 2 years. That is why big clubs didnt want him. If he was playing week in week out and banging them in then I would imagine he coukd attract a move to a team far bigger than Burnley and relegation yo-yo teams.
This fella was said to be a "bargain" at €30m wasn't he? That sounds like a player than any of those clubs would and should be in for. Especialy after seeing him first hand being in the same league as Barca and Real.
....Unless of course he is not worth anywhere near that as many suggested, which is why the likes of Burnley and Newcastle seem to be the pinnacle of ambition for this transfer.
The market where Phillipe Coutinho has a £146mill tag hanging from his shirt.
No one, as far as I can see is suggesting Viera is good enough to be playing at one of the clubs mentioned. But what is clear is we are crying out for creativity, someone who can pick a pass, beat a man. He can do all of that. You keep mentioning Mesa from La Liga, what about Michu? He didn't exactly find it difficult did he?
The Americans, decided not to invest the Siggy/Llorente/Cork money back into the squad, and for that, their investment is up the swanny (excuse the pun)

You are not surely using the worlds most expensive midfielder as a benchmark?
If Viera ''can do it all'' beat a man, pick a pass then I ask again - why is it only Burnley and Newcastle interested in him? I would suggest it is because most people know the differences between La Liga and the Premier League and also realise he may stand out due to the fact he plays for a club that struggles and channel everything through him.
You seem to be picking on exceptions to define the rule. Michu was a superb player and showed it in both leagues. I think Michu is often mentioned as a single transfer to aspire to such is the rareness of it, to add him as an example as to what normal middling La Liga players usually transition to is ludicrous.
The likes of Viera is like Aspas, Borja, Vasquez and Mesa. They do well in lower La Liga teams (as mentioned on another thread, the top 5 squad value in the Championship is higher than the whole bottom half of La Liga). They may well ''do it all'' in that league. Completely different kettle of fish in the PL though.
Far more middling La Liga players do worse upon their transfer to the Prem than find La Liga hard and excel here. The reason for that is blindingly obvious.

Well yes I am using him as a benchmark, and I'm using Gareth Bale as one too, as that's the players they chase. Not Viera.
Iborra from Leicester is another example, David Silva, Llorente, Hernandez, De Guzman are just a few more.

Of course, but what is the common denominator between Coutinho and Bale? They both proved they could be creative in the Premier League. But they also sign other midfielders and not just the superstars of world football, players like Arda Turan, Deulefeu and Rafinha. So it is not the benchmark for this scenario that we are discussing.
Viera is the most creative player in the league according to the stats. So again the question is, why is only Burnley and Newcastle interested in him? Are you saying those stats can be ignored/taken with a pinch of salt for the reasons I stated then? As if they have to be taken seriously then that means he should be on the radar of the top clubs wouldnt it?
Silva, Hernandez, Iborra and Llorente (when he played there) were from top La Liga clubs and had performed at that level on a European/World stage. De Guzman I will grant you, but again it is not all that common that a player from a middling La Liga side will come to the Premier League and prove he is worth 30m.
So my issue is not whether he is a decent player, my issue is should we gamble 30m on someone with a very ordinary track record, someone who has been exposed to clubs with a lot of money and dont seem interested and someone who largely plies his trade playing against teams under the standard we will be facing and ups his stats by being the best of a bad bunch in his team who then channel everything through him (Siggy-esque).
Real, Barca, PSG and Man City shop in a complete different market to us, whose said that Viera would get into any of those sides?

Yeah, no one has, Risca.
Dimi is just an obsessed troll, the only thing going in the loser's life is playing some bbattsshitt character on an online forum. Page after page, thread after thread of his craziness. He's gotten into it with nearly everyone, and been called out for it by everyone, as well. Even Phil.
It's extremely sad to see.
The moderators need to do what's best for everyone and ban the troll permanently, once again.

"Mods please ban this man from talking sense, sob sob, he is ruining my fun getting all excited about average players. MODS! DO SOMETHING!!"

Spot on, Bobby.
There is no reasoning or logic in anything Dimi posts ever.
His purpose is to troll this forum, all day everyday, much like his only buddy little res. Very, very pathetic the two of them are.
They also know nothing about football, the whole purpose of this forum, yet write endless essay after endless essay as if they are the supreme "experts", with no disagreement allowed.
They both need to be banned permanently.

Everyone, read this back but in the voice of a 9 year old schoolchild stamping their feet.
I just did it and it tickled me to the point I had actually regulate my breathing for a few seconds.
Viera was once again outstanding yesterday in Las Palmas' win against CL-bound Valencia, bossing the midfield and playing his usual expert throughballs, one-twos, chips over the backline, etc. Oh, and the exceptional finish below after some wonderful movement carving up Valencia's defence.
What a great decision it was to spend £25m on Clucas/Sanches instead of this guy. The stats for those so inclined:
I love the fact Nivvy pops up regurgitating his nonsense at any goal by Viera and deathly silent when he plays like a m!nge. Needless to say we have heard an awful lot less from the troll this season...
Well, at least we won't have to see him starring for another PL club while we creep towards relegation.
Hopefully, we will sign some quality players over the next 10 days. If we don't, which seems the reality, we're ffukkedd.
Of course he is staying there, no idiot is going to spend £25m on him thats why... Well one idiot would but unfortunately for Las Palmas bank manager he is just an internet troll.
