Aldi staff refusing to sell alcohol at the tills! 10:53 - Aug 27 with 13776 viewsjackportis

Religious beliefs! Pork next? Good for them. Don't get the middle class Brownlee brothers on their adverts! an opportunity for this supermarket to be bold and focus on minority groups which represents their customer base. A Muslim family be great take note other supermarket chains.

Jackportis the brand. “A gifted poster”, “planet swans have a real talent on their hands in the name of Jackportis” sky sports 2018. . JP fully supports posters of LBG, mx orientation and ethnic minority groups. Update - now fully supporting the pansexual community.

The Germans are not a different race.

You quite clearly brought up our 'British way of life', hence my response in kind.

And the snowflakes are the ones who are outraged by someone not serving alcohol. Not me.

I actually pity the whole situation.

Aldi's tweets about the issue said something about them looking to accommodate if staff members have concerns about aspects of their job. I don't think age was an issue in this case, they'd have said if it was. And we wouldn't have the latest in a seemingly endless round of "it's Political Correctness GONE MAD!!" threads.

TBH, buddy, Political Correctness is currently wearing its underpants on its head, It has two pencils up its nose and keeps saying..."Wibble".

I think that debate has left the building.

Good luck, Mr Cooper

It just seems strange that a Muslim won't sell Alcohol in the UK where it is legal to sell and buy alcohol yet I have been served Alcohol by Muslims in Muslims countries, Egypt and Maldives where it is supposed to be banned.

Always seems strange to me that people don't understand that, as with every other religion, some are much more religious or devout than others.

I haven't mentioned a race.

No but you mentioned Germans who are not a different race, but are a different culture, as well you know.

Just because I find this story ridiculous and should not be allowed to happen in a shop in this country, doesn't mean I suddenly hate the Germans. And it was you who brought the Germans into it, not me.

If it was a Welsh supermarket and this situation happened, I'd probably say the same and that is I'll take my custom somewhere else.

''We were with the Prophet of Allah, and He was thirsty, and a man said: O prophet of Allah, Do you want to drink wine? Prophet of Allah said: Yes.The Man went to get the wine. The Prophet of Allah said: Make it Intoxicated. And He (Muhamad) Drank.”

I think it's a whoosh moment.

I was gently taking the p*ss out of your 'British values' post by referring to Germans.

Largely because your post sounded like It had been written by the Major from Fawlty Towers if he was writing on the Daily Mail comments section.

Aldi staff refusing to sell alcohol at the tills! on 19:56 - Aug 27 by Scotia

From what I've seen, which is the original photo, it is a Somali lad with a notice saying he can't sell alcohol but no reason is stated. He appears to be under 18.

Unless aldi have said otherwise it has nothing to do with religion.

So, assuming that's true, this isn't any individual refusing to serve alcohol, this is Aldi saying you can't buy it on this till today, because the cashier is underage (and clearly signposting it)?

If that's the case, wtf is the OP all about?

It wasn't about age. The employee apparently expressed "concern" about selling alcohol and Aldi allowed him to nit serve alcohol at his till.

But if Allah is God, and God is also Jesus, and Jesus says drink this red wine for it is my blood, then surely Allah's blood must be about 13% proof as well?

They can't all be wrong?

Don't see a massive problem with that to be honest, on the assumption that its not part of his normal role there.

If he has taken the job, knowing that's a part of it and then 'expressed concern' he can do one. If he normally does something else and was covering the till, I think it's fair enough.

what are you talking about ? What has British values got to do with the Germans.
The fact Aldi is German owned is irrelevant, that's probably gone over your head.
The point is someone buying a perfectly legal product should be served by an employee of the company selling that product, its as simple as that.

If people don't want to handle certain products, then go and work where that product isn't for sale.

That could well be correct, but I originally saw it in a tweet to Tommy Robinson. The photo shows a young lad, if he had expressed concerns about alcohol then why not other haram products? Is all aldi meat halal and what about pork?

It doesn't ring true to me. I don't think aldi have mentioned the employees religion, so everyone else is leaping to an opinion that may be unfounded.

I don't disagree with you but if it was as simple as him being under age Aldi would have just said so.
