So with Jenkins gone, thatll be the corporate side of things sewn up. An all-American operating structure with those being appointed primarily on the basis of "we know them from back home". Fair enough.

But what are the plans for the footballing side then? Scouting, recruitment, player development etc? Are they just going to rebrand it all and call it "talent management" and not actually bother with any of it or will there be investment there? If there were to be, itd take some of the heat off. The hard infrastructure is there in terms of bricks and mortar, as well as the now in place suited headcount. But what about the day to day operational side of the football?

You can try to run a football club like an investment bank, but at the end of the day you need your trade specialists who know the market and what they are doing. Without it youre a bunch of clueless no marks who are running up a debt. Interesting times.

Any idea why the Trust doesn't do "long term"or "life time" membership, as it not only shows commitment from the Fan it also means you don't have to remember to pay each year?
[Post edited 12 Oct 2016 17:34]

Interesting idea. I'll raise it.

Must admit it's the annual renewals I'm keener on. Have been promised they'll be in place next year.

I presume we'd revert to the normal model of a manager identifying targets, rather than Huw playing football manager. Which would make Tim Sherwood a very interesting number 2 option with his contacts and knowledge (unless that was a wind up thread).

ANd worth remembering that the 578 members that Dougie refers to is the first full month of renewal - it has increased significantly since then and continues to increase as people realise that a Trust is important even more so now that our lifelong fans have departed the shareholders register

Having Bradley and potentially Sherwood identifying targets is one thing. I dont know whether or not they have the capability to do that or not so wont comment.

If the Americans had any sense, theyd plow money in to the scouting network, much like the whole moneyball thing as we really need to get an edge from somewhere over our competitors. Itd be a win-win for them. They could spend less on players in and potentially gain more in turning them around for bigger fees. Hopefully they see the value in this and dont ignore it. This is the PL after all. It is possible to buy low, sell high. But you have to be good at identifying the correct players, and weve failed at this over the last couple of years.

Sherwood identifying players for us?

Ask a Villa fan or two, he's utterly useless and I'd rather keep Huw than employ this idiot and that's saying something given Huw's recent record.

I'm not sure Phil that all the departed shareholders were lifelong fans...but good to see that Trust Membership is on the increase.

The genuine lifelong fan shareholders have really wasted their legacy opportunity. Be amazed if they don't look back in the years to come and think...(after they've counted their money)...we missed a trick there...could've been our statues alongside Ifor.

Are the Trust working with the new owners now that the 'life long fans' who do not now appear to be! pay their way and that their seats are made available to true fans and not held back because of who they are/were
