Agree too. But I suspect one or two Fleetwood fans may disagree.

One of our opponents missing out on a windfall in a small but not insignificant way will only benefit us next season.

He said he was going to leave the decision until after the Euros

But... I wonder how much his non-engagement with the team in the draw v Slovakia (and his similar non-engagement during a recent friendly) made his mind up for him?

He might've seen the future had he signed for Arsenal - becoming an increasingly peripheral figure within an alien system. The ball over the top on the break for him to run onto just isn't in their locker, they're a possession team under Wenger and always will be. TBH I've absolutely no idea why Wenger thought he'd fit within their system, he really must be losing it

In a world where those chasing the top four will pay £40 million for a player not even guaranteed a start, I suppose Vardy was just too good value at £20 million to miss out on.

Maybe he thought if he could sign the opposition's best players Arsenal would have a better chance of beating them! (although they did do the double over Leicester)? Its a tactic Mourinho used in the early noughties at Chelsea when he bought the likes of Wright Phillips , Joe Cole and Sidwell.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

You're reading my mind , that's exactly how i see it. It shows how befuddled Wengers think is if he thinks Vardy is the answer to his problems. #coachingbadges.

Edit... Just seen the other posts and maybe they could be right also, signing the oppositions best player in order to negate their threat. A great example of money ruining football.
