I don't expect too many to be up watching this (its 5:47am) but he is definitely the most recognisable combat sportsman from GB and Eire. An undisputed superstar who has a bigger following than anyone in UFC.
However, not too many casual sport fans in the UK know about him. Definitely a polarising character, but if he beats Aldo he will have conquered the world.

Conor is the only who does it really in MMA. I have no problem with the stuff he says, if he was like most fighters he wouldn't make anywhere near the amount of money he has. With all the head trauma stuff I have no problem with guys making a shit ton of money and then getting out instead of fighting into their 40s.

I can't think of any in MMA who show off like Mcgregor does. 1 person. His wage depends on how many people buy his fight. Plus the fact he's an elite level athlete and has sacrificed a ton to get where he is.
