Valued Fans?...... Maybe the club could show appreciation? 21:00 - Apr 4 with 3172 views | garabaldi | Re the Parking fiasco around the ground lately with dozens of cars being slapped with fines by our lovely supportive council ..... maybe the club could step in, stick two fingers up to the assholes , give something back to its loyal fans and do the following.... Park and Ride over spill car park....maybe 300 spaces.......council fleece us for £6 each car thats ... £1800 Near to Morrisons.... 150-200 cars...again £6 each car... £900- £1200. Plus any other small car parks who are charging the already fleeced fans...... THE CLUB pay the vultures in full for every home league game.( 4k a game or 76k a seaason ? And then anyone who shows their Season ticket at car[park entrance makes a £1 donation which goes to the childrens ward at Morriston or Singleton Hospital. 4k....... thats one players daily wage. OR 76k ....thats around what Gomis earns in 10 days.

He is talking about parking properly - just feels that £100 + for parking every season is a bit rich on top of everything else. To park legally I got to Plasmarl at 1.45 yesterday and ended up parking round the corner in the side road by the fair. If we extend by another 5k to 15k, how on earth would we cope with the parking?

How would we cope with the parking? A proper park and ride system to stop people parking in the area and blocking up roads etc allied with better public transport links to get to the ground for match days

Can you imagine the carnage of thousands using p&r you'd still be queing for a bus this morning. If only there was a train line nearby.

P&R and public transport is the answer unfortunately as you say with the muppets of whichever party in the guildhall it would turn into a complete shambles in no time

It's going to be an absolute nightmare and what will the Council do....... put an army of traffic wardens.

Only happens for a lower league club http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventrys-long-awaited-ricoh To be fair it's only happening as part of the Nuneaton to Kenilworth link and not just for football reasons

Needs to be a fleet of them at the end of the game to work. Mind you it could lead to threads about people leaving early to get a place in the queue.
Valued Fans?...... Maybe the club could show appreciation? on 10:53 - Apr 6 with 2006 views | Highjack | There's plenty of parking in the streets around the ground, I park outside peoples houses, i even slapped it on a drive once. The owner wasn't happy but she was about 70 so I could just about out run her.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this one of the major reasons behind the expansion being repeatedly stalled? Traffic/parking issues? Hence the Hafod relief road which is being built by the new student flats. I don't think the answer is building numerous car parks. Sustainability is central going forward and the Liberty does need better public-transport links, although as mentioned, the bendy bus does stop outside the Liberty. Re-opening the train line would be useful but will never happen (why are First Great Western going to stump up all that cash for something that will be used 20 times a year?). Fans in bigger cities utilise public transport far more than in Swansea. In Manchester, there is a tram that drops you outside the ground, for cricket as well as football. A well-planned public transport initiative has to be the way forward.

Exactly. Not some half assed bus service where there are hardly any buses after an evening game. Parking and transport are issues for the area. The muppets in the council and bus companies need to get this sorted.
