Can FIFA take past records into account? Can't think of a case where they'd have to before.

The bite happened in the 79th minute.

The two WC games Suarez has played sums up his career perfectly.

oh okay, what I get for flicking back to the England game

Just reading about what a FIFA doc as stated...
He says that Suarez will be forced to wear a gum shield in future games....
Is this the sign of a possible let off by FIFA..

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

They'll never find a gum shield big enough. Be better to just fit him with a muzzle like Hannibal.

Poll: Now the club has refused to move on sesaon ticket prices what will you now do?

If true and Fifa use this as a let off for him it just shows how toothless (No pun intended) They really are....

Poll: Hill in or out? 2nd referendum.....

I love how he dived on the floor clutching his face and then checked his teeth.

I didn't. Just confirms what a shameless cheat he is.

We will see if FIFA have the balls to do anything about it.

Good Lord! He'd probably bite them off. I dread what to think if he were invited to a finger buffet.

Suarez's post match comments are laughable as well

"This is the sort of thing that goes on in the box.... I got a whack in the eye" why then hold your teeth?

He'll do well from this. I've heard he's already being lined up to replace Daniel Sturridge as the face of Subway, biting into a hearty Italian.

Not so hearty, he's pasta his best

There's a twitter account that tweets the most deluded/hilarious/stupid posts from the Liverpool messageboard. Here are some of them from yesterday:

Suarez did feck all wrong except challenge an Italian defender. Did he bite him? Did he feck...

It's not a bite you self-righteous, knicker-wetting fanny! Get it right, he just pushed his face in with his mouth open.

It was just a nudge with his head, media frenzy and anti Suarez movement now in overdrive!!!!!!!!!!!!I

Biting isn't very dangerous. I'd rather get bitten than receiving an elbow to the face...

30 league goals, he can bite who he wants...

Typical cheating Italian. Clearly he shoulders Suarez in the teeth

I love how he falls to the floor as if he has been fouled afterwards. I love him

I absolutely despise that club. They're everything that's wrong with football. Scum. The Twitter account is @RAWK_Meltdown for anyone interested.

Tangled up in blue.

I suspect Suarez will come out of this very lightly.

When deciding upon what punishment a player should receive, have FIFA ever taken club football into consideration before? its quite possible that this will be judged as a one off and he receives a three game ban, especially when I imagine the majority of the criticism will come from the British press who aren't flavour of the month with FIFA. There's no way FIFA will act to appease the British media.

And do they have the powers to extend this to include club football?

Liverpool could quite possibly (and arguably rightly) claim this has nothing to do with them so why should they be denied the use of their best player?

Banned for 9 international matches, and from all football for 4 months, but given the season does not start 'til mid august, im wondering if it should have been longer.

Whilst not having any sympathy for Liverpool, they're going to lose a huge amount of money - surely, when they offload him at well below market value now - whilst he's been fined less than half his weekly wage.

On top of the bans, he should've been fined the absolute maximum amount possible. One can only hope his sponsors desert him (they must've had clauses built into the contracts for such an eventuality?) and that he loses out bigtime through this route.

And the inevitable appeal has now been lodged by the Uruguayan FA, meaning that Suarez will be available for all matches until the appeal tribunal delivers its' verdict.

“It is easier to fool people, than to convince them that they have been fooled”
