Wow. Who would have thought, a few weeks ago, that we might only be three points off a relegation place? What a weird division this. (If we have a team) We can draw a line under Hartlepools and the remaining 14 teams will have to battle out survival. We have a game in hand on the others — Oooh!
Listened to a decent play on R4 Extra today called A Far Cry From Brazil by Robert East. About Macclesborough FC Give it a listen and tell me the author hasn't been behind the scenes at t'Dale.
Did we used to have a badge with a tree on it? The story being it depicted a tree that was in the Sandy Lane end before a road widening scheme took part of the stand away and the tree is now outside the ground. Or have I dreamed this?
There is an interview with Sir Elton on the BBC Sport site. He mentions that himself and Graham Taylor got locked in at Rochdale. No further details. Anyone know what that was about?
Thought I would bump this in case some of you hadn't noticed. We are playing Harrogate at the Crown Oil Arena on Saturday 4th November. 12:00 o'clock K.O. £3.00 admission (£2.00 concessions) Pay on the day. Grub and drinks for sale too See you there
Anyone any knowledge of the area? A pint beforehand and a bite to eat afterwards if anyone can recommend? I’ve looked at Bray by the way and (ahem) somewhat out of our price bracket. Ta in advance UTD
I’ll be in Birmingham city centre next Tuesday night and wondered if anyone might know of a pub that could be persuaded to put the Dale match on. Ta in advance.
Anyone know if it will be possible to pay on the day at York. Just tried to buy tickets on the Dale site - only showing Kidderminster. And can’t seem to get away end on the York site. Surely not sold out is it?
I’m going to Google this in a minute but thought I would ask here first: I am currently in leafy Surrey and, in one of the pretty villages here, I noticed the church hall running a film club. On their list was something entitled, The Best Little Whorehouse in Rochdale. Never heard of it. Anyone know anything about this film? Ta.
Some of you may have heard about ChatGPT, the new AI sensation and possible Google replacement. Anyway, I just asked it how Rochdale AFC could improve itself and here is what it came up with:
There are several ways that Rochdale AFC can improve themselves:
Invest in player development and scouting to bring in new talent.
Focus on team tactics and strategy to make the most of their current players.
Improve their training facilities and programs to better develop players.
Increase their financial resources through better revenue generation and cost management.
Strengthen the club's relationship with their fans through engagement and community initiatives.
Enhance the club's youth academy to produce and nurture future stars.
Note that these are general recommendations and the specific actions needed will depend on the club's current situation and resources.
