Showed the video to a friend of mine who is a referee and asked his thoughts: "Keeper initiates the contact by the movement of the attacker and his ability to play the ball and been effected by the attacker's movement and where he’s put himself. That’s what the ref will think. Safe fk to kill the game" |

Anyone on the new Football Manager game? Been playing the beta for a week or so - only just started the season as Dale but I'm unbeaten in six games and have only conceded once! Playing 4-1-3-2 with Joe Ledley (free transfer signing) as the holding midfielder and Kun Temenuzkhov (on loan from Leeds) up front with Hendo. Struck up a partnership with Chelsea and got Billy Gilmour on loan, he's got three goals from midfield so far. Anyone worth signing/avoiding? |

First league game I've been to this season tonight (former regular but can't go most games now due to work). Went to United but hard to form a judgement off a game like that. I have to say I was extremely impressed with the way we moved the ball and the commitment we showed to keeping it on the deck where possible. Granted, we didn't have as much of it as perhaps we have in other games but we controlled the game without the ball and when we got it back, we caused them all sorts of problems. Impressed with the McShane-O'Connell partnership. Both look completely unnerved and while McShane may not have the legs he used to have, he reads the game so well and tends to be two yards ahead in his brain. RND was superb in both attack and defence, Morley's range of passing is quite extraordinary (he seems to have put a lot of size on, too) but Rathbone was absolutely outstanding. Where on earth does he get his engine from? Hendo was Hendo, Done will probably be disappointed he hasn't scored and Tavares looked lively. Not entirely convinced by Keohane or MJ - think the latter slowed us down a bit too much. For me, I am happy to accept that with this style of play, we are not always going to get it right and we may cop some stuffings (Peterborough for example) but when it all clicks, we are going to dish out some hammerings of our own. Overall, I'm confident we have more than enough to finish comfortably clear of relegation on that evidence. Up the Dale! |

Just a theory - and I may be talking codswallop here - but I think JW11 was up against it from the minute he was brought in. Bought for a significant outlay, given the number 11 shirt and labelled as the direct replacement for Mendez-Laing. I think putting that brand on him was unfair on a player who would have inevitably needed time to adjust to the step up to league football. Fair play to him, he's come back and clearly trained the house down and I think he offers us a lot in the position he's currently in. Do I want to see more of Clough? Absolutely, but I've no problem with JW being in the team at the moment. All the very best to him! |

Anyone had a go at the beta version ahead of the full release today? Flying high in second with Dale in mid-January playing 4-1-4-1. McGahey and Delaney have formed a superb partnership at the back and MJ is a revelation in the holding midfield role, with Camps and Rathbone ahead. Just picked up Wes Hoolahan on a free and he's scored on his debut v Fleetwood. Scott Golbourne (LB) a good free transfer pick-up in pre-season as well. Flogged McNulty, Calvin, Williams and Moore. Stay away from Dexter Blackstock and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on frees! Would be interested to know how people are finding it! |

Unlike recent home games (Oldham, Bradford, Portsmouth to an extent) in which the opposition were there for the taking, Plymouth were excellent tonight and could have been out of sight by half time. In that respect, it's a great point we've got tonight especially with other results. As others have said, Hilly would have been aware of the Oldham result and I think that played a part in our dropping off a bit in the last 15 minutes. Hill got it badly wrong in the first half but you have to give him credit for changing it. Inman was superb on the right for me. We could have knuckled under when they scored during our best spell in the game, but all credit to them for fighting back and levelling straight away. We really had them on the rack at times in that second half. Their keeper has made an excellent save from Camps but I'm afraid Gillam's chance has to go down as a sitter. All in all, a good point. Who'd have thought a couple of months ago that we'd be going into the final two games of the season outside the relegation zone with our destiny in our own hands? Certainly not me! Up the Dale! |

Any Aussie based Dale fans/anyone who has been there for a long stretch. In Melbourne for the game and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that will be showing the Spurs match? Cheers! |

Missed a fair few games this season but I'll give it a go... Player of the season: Joe Bunney. Of course there were other injuries, but his long-term absence really cost us a play-off place. The difference he makes to the team is clear to see. Best match: Scunthorpe at home. They were the league leaders and we played them off the pitch! Best performance: Walsall at home. Won 4-0 and I've never seen a performance so utterly dominant. Worst match: Shrewsbury away. We lost a game that had 0-0 written all over it. Worst performance: See above. We simply did not turn up and played like we were on the beach. Most significant match: Beating Fleetwood at home, purely to lift the gloom that had developed after our winless start Best goal: Hendo v Chesterfield (H). Pure technique Most heartbreaking moment: On the pitch, I'll go with Peterborough's last minute winner. A game we absolutely did not deserve to lose. Off it, hearing Joe Thompson's cancer had returned absolutely crushed me. Best atmosphere: I'll echo other sentiments and say the 10 minutes at Oldham when we were back in the play-offs! Other memorable moments: I wasn't there, but watching Camps' free-kick find the bottom corner at Maidstone on Final Score sticks out. My housemates had been giving me grief about losing to a non-league side for the best part of an hour. I don't think there was a piece of furniture I didn't jump on when that goal went in! |

Don't often post on here but I thought I'd share this story from yesterday. I was on the train back from Walsall and I was sat behind a group of Bolton fans on their way back from Coventry. They were talking about promotion rivals they still had to play and our name came up, prompting one of them to declare that it was "a joke" that we were so high up the table and say "there will be some financial foul play going on there" I'm sure the majority of their fans don't feel this way but what an atrocious "big-club mentality" to show! Also, a Bolton fan suspecting financial impropriety at another club? REALLY? |

Playing 4-2-3-1, with NML on the right wing, McAleny on the left as an inside forward and Hendo in behind Davies as a second striker. NML has three goals so far, all far post tap-ins! |

I've started a save as Rochdale, will you be able to carry it over when the full game kicks in? Apologies if that's a stupid question! My data analyst had West Ham and Burnley fighting over his services! On the field, doing well. Four wins out of five in the league, Steven Davies has scored seven goals (including two hat-tricks!) Signed Anthony Gerrard and Bob Harris on frees, also got a link-up with Everton and brought Tom Davies (defensive mid) and Conor McAleny (left wing) in who have both been excellent. |

Listening to Hilly's interview post-match, he says Rathbone and McGahey will both return to full training this week, with Vincenti returning late this week/early next week so we may see them in the FC United game? NML was left out as a precaution last night, he didn't put a timescale on Lund's return but he says it isn't as bad as first feared |

We've just moved offices and we were promised the TV would be fitted in time for us to watch the match in work. It hasn't materialised due to a delivery cock-up, so the powers that be have been kind enough to let anyone who wants to watch it leave early! COME ON ENGLAND! |

Antony Kay released by Franchise MK. Getting on a bit at 33 and his wages might be an issue but could be worth a shout as an experienced head at the back? |

I remember Zeli Ismael having a stormer of a game against us while on loan at Burton in our last promotion season. Not sure where he's been since but certainly left an impression! |
