Never really understood this mentality tbh. We have had many loan players who have made significant contributions to the club (usually to our survival in the Champ in recent years). Back in the day this might have had more traction, when a player could stay with one club and loyalty actually was a thing. Nowadays, all players are mercenaries, doing a job for their current employees, but with one eye on the next step in their career. This is not a criticism, it is the world we live in and it applies to many jobs outside football. For me, once a player pulls on the QPR shirt, he's ours - until he isn't. |

I wouldn't see it as a negative that Kelman has missed big chances. Look at Frey and Dunne last night and they are both on top of their game. Celar has missed less chances because he wasn't always in the right position. I would love to see Kelman recalled for the 2nd half of the season and maybe let Bennie our in his place as he is getting very little game time at the minute . It would be interesting to see if he has developed over the past few months If not, then consider releasing/selling but if we learned anything from Smyth is that some players take longer to reach a certain level than others |

I wouldn't expect him to start with Edwards when he has only being here a week. There is no need to completely reshuffle the CB paring that has done well the last two games. Ashby played well V Watford and deserves to keep his place. Maybe start JCS instead of Fox, if he didn't have any reaction to his 30 minutes last time out and assuming Dunne's shoulder is okay. Hoping for a win and a clean sheet: 2-0 |

Super player for both QPR and RoI. Unfortunate with injuries that he didn't win more caps. Loved to see that red head emerging with the ball after a midfield 'tussle' Glad his QPR management career didn't tarnish his reputation. Thought he was unfortunate with the hand he was dealt |

I agree with this 100%. I amazed that anyone would think we are out of the mire. Our 1 defeat in 10 has given us a fighting chance of survival, that's all. If we only lose one of the next ten, I may feel differently. Until then... |

Vinnie Jones. And nobody has mentioned Illias Chair, so I won't either |

Nothing to add. Just thought he deserved his own thread |
| Forum Reply | How have things changed so drastically in last ten games at 20:12 2 Jan 2025
Actual performances haven't improved all that much, but results have. We have still played abysmally at times in the last 10 games (Cardiff/Oxford/BC/Swansea), but with the exception of the latter we got away with it. Oxford were even more inept than we were, BC couldn't score in a brothel and Cardiff likewise were fairly toothless. When we are bang at it; Norwich (x2) Watford (x2) and Preston, we are more than a match for any team in this division. When we are not, we're not. |

Absolutely no room for complacency. We could easily go on a six match losing run and find ourselves right back in it. |

He's 27 so a big decision for him. 2+1deal and he knows he won't command as much in wages next time. I would offer him 3+1 otherwise he might leave for a higher championship club for better wages. Could do a job for any club at this level |

TBF I think we have known this, especially with Cook. Morrison's injury is less specified, which means it is indeterminate how long. We definitely need a CB. If nothing else it frees up Fox to play LB. If we are to get ANYTHING for Paal he needs to be sold now. The same applies to Dunne of course, but I am sure he is going NOWHERE even if we lose him for a free next summer. With regard to players loaned out- can we recall Larkeche and Kellman? |

JCS subbed 60 minutes - returning from injury (Ashby) If Marti was to do this, he would create the exact same left-footed imbalance that caused us so many problems at Swansea. So I wouldn't recommend this unless the game is out of sight (reach). I agree though that JCS needs minutes (in fact I don't think he should have gone from 0 to 90 to 0 - I would have thrown him on for the last 15 v Norwich), so would put him on either directly for Fox, or for Paal and move Fox to LB. Really though, it is less about personnel and more about attitude. If we get stuck in like Norwich (x2), Watford at home and Preston, we will be fine and at least a draw. If we go out all insipid and passive then we will get beat - simple as. |

TBF he brought them straight back up again and won the Cup in '77. Loved Gordon Hill, was sorry it didn't work at us. |

Gosh that brings back memories. Think the natives set fires on the terraces too if memory serves? |

For the 'Nourry Out' brigade (I'm ambiguous either way) this loan was a Masterstroke. |
