Ibrahimovic on 12:52 - Jan 30 with 1456 views | PlanetHonneywood | I believe I am right when I say this, but didn't we miss out on signing Kevin Keegan from Scunthorpe over a few thousand pounds? Our prevarication merely galvanised Liverpool into action. The rest, as they say, is history!

Yes. In one of Francis Peacock's excellent books, the story is told that the manager (Jago?) wanted him but Gregory said no.

I still rue Ray Houghton not signing (when it looked to be a done deal) and Miky Hazard. A mate of mine swore blind that as he was exiting the box office, Hazard exited LR and intimated it was on. Houghton would have been outstanding in the B&W and I think Hazard in that Venables team would have similarly shone.

If he told you that, you mustn't have much time left. Is he an angel or a devil?

In Jagos book he also says we were in for George Best in 1973/74 but he then left Man Utd and he decided against it
