Blackwell: Not enough ice
Sunday, 8th Sep 2013 10:10 by Col

Bury boss Kevin Blackwell hit out at his own side's inadequacies and Dale's brutal tactics after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to ten men Dale, and cited Keith Hill's half time intervention as a turning point in the game.

Speaking to the press after the game, Blackwell said: "Rochdale were lucky to have 10 men on in the end because some of their tackling was outrageous.

"Keith Hill had a go at the referee at half-time, screaming in his face, and for me that showed in the second half. Hilly has done his job, I'm just disappointed with the officials.

"There was a point at half-time when I was worried we didn't have enough ice in the dressing room. It's up to the referee to sort that out, otherwise it becomes a free-for-all.

"But having said that we didn't do enough with the ball and that concerns me. As good as our strikers have been lately, they weren't good enough on the day.

"It's our own fault because we had enough possession. Our frontmen were nowhere near bright enough and I gave someone a job to do at a corner and he didn't do his job and the ball ends up in the back of the net.

"We've been going well but people passed on their responsibilities here. There's always something to bring you down to earth and that's what happened to us."

Where did Blackwell want the ref to produce some ice from?

So that's why Blackwell was upset, not enough Ice for his Scotch on the rock to drink away the fact that Bury were awful

Having read what Kevin Blackwell 's comment it seems to me to be a case of bad loser and saying that Dale were lucky to be down to just10 men was a farce . Half his team where as far as I could see relied on dirty tactics and diving. Most of them could have got a Oscar for their acting performances . The ref gave them Bury most of the decisions in their favour, Bury gave a very poor performance and Kevin Blackwell should look at the that instead of blaming the performance of the opposite team their manager, the linesmen or the ref, It is easier to blame others instead of looking directly at where the problem lies within his own teams performance . As for not having enough ice at half time why didn't he send someone to get some more i'm sure he could of sent someone from the dressing room to get some either that or nip down in the car to Asda's to get a bag at half time Keith Hill looked like he was getting frustrated with some of the decisions the ref was making and had a go at the ref at half time I'm sure it wont be the first time the ref got a earbashing from a manager and won't be the last. I'm sure Kevin Blackwell has also given the ref a earbashing during half time as some point in his career. So come on Kevin Blackwell get over yourself
