It's not weird considering he's been injured for some time twice this season. He's on the bench because he might come on to get some minutes if Marti thinks it's sensible for the player and that particular match situation. As Clive points out it's not as simplistic as loan players keeping out our younger players. Kolli didn't even always get a game when not injured and we didn't have Yang, for instance. There are always factors we don't know about so we're all just speculating. I can't remember him playing on the right, only the left. |

Yes but my point was not about individual loan players so much as this recent backlash against loan players in general which seems a bit like groupthink as I remember us having loan players for decades without it being such a big deal. It seems a sensible approach in January when you have a thin squad and need to plug gaps. I don't think you could necessarily forecast for example that we'd lose Cook, Morrison and JCS at the same time and Edwards is an excellent stop gap. |

I thought it was just me. As you say Varane's key job is breaking up play and recovering possession. Especially with no Field to help with this. Looking at stats this season Varane carries the ball forward more than e.g. Colback, who incidentally seemed to pass the ball backwards a lot too despite being in a more attacking role. Not sure why Varane gets the heat. |

I don't really understand why so many are so against loan players. We've always had them. People weren't complaining when we brought in Austin and Johansson under Warbs.People also didn't mind having Iroegbonun and Laird under Beale. It's obvious why we're being careful with Morrison. We've made mistakes bringing players back too soon in the past, including Morrison himself this season. As for Smyth he can't play 90 minutes every match. We haven't got another replacement for him and not much pace in the squad. Yang makes sense., even if he didn't have a great game against 2nd in the league. Kolli can't play as said by PP because he's injured. And I can't remember him on the right anyway. Our form has dropped but it's not because of Yang and Edwards. I would say we miss Cook at his best as he's finding his way back; Dunne is not quite at the level of pre- Christmas; Nor is Morgan; Smyth looks a bit jaded, etc, etc. Plus it's the sharp end of the season and teams are fighting for something. When we have our best players firing all together we look good but we're not at the stage of winning against better teams while not playing well. I trust Marti to know what's best for us not just for one or two matches but across the season and even getting ready for next season. |

Honestly I despair sometimes. We lost narrowly against a team that is top of the away form table, only lost points in two of the last ten matches and spent £25 million this summer, and people are questioning the manager/building over time strategy. I actually thought we had a decent game, restricted them to few decent chances and had a few of our own. On another day the Campbell effort goes into row Z and Saito scores that header. They were clapped off. Not a time to panic. |

Agree about their goals. Except I don't think Cook was particularly at fault for either. Dunne and Paal should have done better with the cross for the first and Yang should have got rid of the ball earlier. For the second I thought it was Colback who was nearer and should have closed him down. I think we should have made more of the chances we created at the other end. Having said that it was a decent effort against a top two side and we almost certainly deserved a point. The ref was poor again and did his best for them. |

Bloody pisses me off. We've got a junior school near us. Been there forever. Small new estate built on abutting land. Since the new residents moved in they've bombarded the school with complaints about the noise of.... children playing. F*ckers. Also successfully ended the annual firework display which was a massive fundraiser and their best social event. So many Brits see any change as inherently bad. Also we are constantly encouraged to froth by the media and SM. It makes any new projects impossible to build as there's always some group objecting. We had a piece of land near us that couldn't be used for kids' sports because of supposed badgers. I live nearby and have never seen a badger or the badger fur that mysteriously was discovered on site. |

That's where I am. It obviously wasn't working on Saturday to the extent that I'd like to have seen half time changes. Against other teams/at home it probably will work fine. |

It's really all about the first half of the season. Just two home wins, e.g. against Plymouth and Hull would have us just two points off the play offs. You're bound to have the odd off day but we can't now without missing our chance for the play offs because we started so poorly but I agree I would've taken mid table after last season! I thought we were a bit flat, particularly those players who it's no coincidence usually play well when we play well like Chair and Dunne. I was a bit annoyed with Chair for berating Saito for not passing to him in the first half: pot/kettle really. They were very physical and targeted certain players: Dunne was taken out late a couple of times and so was Saito. The ref could've given a couple of cards earlier I thought. Not sure whether the elbow on Saito was deliberate but he certainly looked very shaken up. We certainly got sucked into hoofing it into the air, which is not our game but they love. I think it was a combination of that and a couple of individual errors/mishaps. The Cook uncharacteristic underhit pass/Dunne not moving towards the ball/Paal allowing Ritchie to get away from him for the second; the potential foul on Varane in the build up to the first and the Dunne slip. I think we can manage when a couple aren't firing but not more than that and Dunne, Cook, Chair, Varane and Frey didn't have their best games. It's a conundrum for Marti because Chair is our most creative player and arguably best down the middle but we badly missed Morgan's better ability to link defence and attack and his tendency to show for the ball when needed. Frey was terribly isolated in the first half and you could see his frustration. |

Yes. It says in the article that the retailer gets £26.40 per shirt, which means we'd get that if you buy direct from the club. Our shirts are a bit cheaper but it would be a decent chunk anyway. |

I don't really get this purist thing either. Why aren't we allowed to enjoy cameos of players we could never afford? Why should Sheff Utd have Brereton Dias ( 2 goals and an assist in 6 on loan) or Harry Souttar 13 clean sheets on loan but we're not allowed cos it doesn't count if they won't play for us next season. I still remember the excitement of watching Mark Kennedy play for us when I've forgotten tons of other QPR permanent players. I bet I'll remember Yang too. And if the owners who are regularly spunking millions on us every year defray a bit of that because some tourists from the far East buy a novelty clock in the club shop in memory of their favourite player then I don't begrudge them. Why not spread a bit of joy to folks like that very nice South Korean guy I met at Coventry who is delighted at following the Rs atm? |

. I want a stewards inquiry. I am always bloody on here, apart from during our annual relegation flirtation and I'm not on 6k yet. |

That explains it. I was thinking it's usually the law that managers get sacked just before or after playing us . This sort of counts. |
