Ask me again after six or seven years when we continue to get spanked albeit in a lower league or leagues. The excitement of seeing some proper grounds again will soon wear off as Rasmus and Co. continue to make a Horlicks of things…..
To be fair, unless we get someone in with a football brain to run our operations ‘on the pitch’ there is little point stressing about a return to the PL. From a financial point of view it will be crucial, but is ‘rinse and repeat’ the thing to be enduring?…..
There is that but let’s be honest, the wheels are gonna come off the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Forest at some stage (Ala us a few years back) as sustaining the results they are getting will be a problem longer term. A couple of duff signings and it doesn’t take much to put you back in as relegation fodder
What has the size of their stadium got to do with their progress / results / success?
Provided things don’t reach saturation levels on TV audiences you could play to an empty stadium and still win the league (if you have decent owners and daft investment levels). The days of ‘bums on seats’ are long gone on affecting finances majorly.
Dragan couldn’t do much worst than to buy out these other goons and go and tap up Cortese. You never know, post relegation he might even recoup some of the pending losses.
So we have shifted circa 30,000 tickets? Under the current climate I would not sneer at that and to be honest, once the stands have been infiltrated can see it being a sell out
