A lovely gentleman. Thoughts with his family. He was captain at the time of my earliest visits to Spotland. Didnt he suffer an early career end due to a spiral fracture? |

Wow, some fantastic memories in this thread. I suspect a few of these attendances were the work of the great Ronnie Todd, including my own, Ziggy Stardust at the Free Trade. It must have been quite a commitment to arrange those school trips, full marks to the guy, it set some of us on a certain path for life… Regarding Dalei’s question on an Oulder Hill/Tractor link, I may recall it - Rick Milne, brother of Tractor frontman Jim went to that school. I dont recall Jim coming in to the school though, which is weird, because I was a Tractor fan. In fact it was a connection to Tractor’s drummer, Steve Clayton which got my first ‘band’ a playing spot at Deeply Vale, an enormously kind move by Steve as we were nowhere near good enough at the time. So supportive of him. My first ever recordings were done in the attic studio in Steve’s parents house in Heywood. Great days. |

I'm just really sad tonight. In all my years, I dont remember the side capitulating with this kind of whimper. Maybe stats will prove me wrong, but this feels different in a very bad way :( |

at halftime, maybe the best result of the season, at the end, the worst in years |

looking at this with some humour, we've scored 40, 1 less than Hull, top scorers in the division. We've conceded 48, just 3 less than Burton, leakiest side in the division. With no left back and centrebacks who cant keep fit, the manager's solution to that scenario is to sign 2 midfielders and a striker.... Is Kevin Keegan his managerial hero |

Some interesting info from Aaron which adds to current confusion I have around the finances of the club, perhaps you folks can help me. Its pretty clear that the players have had a picture painted of a club in desperate trouble, in danger of administration. Lets take a look back at some of the club income speculated on this forum this season: - £350k up front for Adshead - £1M up front for Matheson - 3 games against prem teams in cups - shall we say £250k? -£1.4M in the form of a council loan to cover ongoing improvements, secured against the ground, which the club owns. - a further decent sum imminent for Craig Dawson sell on, not sure how much. Against this, the players and staff are largely furloughed, so no outgoings there, end March to end October is it? Aaron mentions player deferments? How is that when they arent being paid? I dont get it, where did all the money go? |

Hendo has decided to give the Board a kick on his way out, I dont blame him. I suspect he’s done it on behalf of all the players. I’m surprised more hasnt yet come out over current outrageous events. Strange times. Hard to imagine any kind of team spirit going forwards. Thanks for the memories Ian. |

Given the amount of anti-Hill feeling at Bolton, I read Gowlings comments to be about Hill’s future?? |

As you say an interesting read. I love the part where it states that the £70k debt purchase (by SD2s daughters boyfriend) hasnt been paid, and now the guarantor is trying to evade the debt. Any chance this might be SD2?? Remember this arrangement gave them the voting power to force through the CVA in the first place. I suspect HMRC will be looking with interest at the way money was moved around these companies.... |

The thing that’s really surprised me in all this is just how incompetent HMRC have been in their pursuit of SD2/buried. First they pursue unpaid national insurance from a business which even a cursory glance tells you has no employees - guess what? That was a fail. Then they pursue a further sum which they then admit in court they know the business doesnt owe. Presumably, SD2 is getting costs awarded each time which us lot are paying? Just what is going on there? |

Apparently, Benwell studied ‘pschology’ in barnsley, after a stint at the ‘school of trial and error’ 😂 A fully qualified SD3 by the look of it.... |

Miss Binns mustve had an eventful life, pretty sure I remember her having weeks off after a serious road accident. From the very corners of my failing memory, she went through the windscreen of her Anglia, but memory does play tricks these days. |
