Nope and I would also add that unless anyone on here works in professional football or has worked dealing with transfers they are all pretty uneducated guesses.

well my un educated guess

says remy wont be playing for QPR next season

Disagree. By examining what facts we do know and marrying these to our circumstances, you can make a reasonably educated guess.

If we all had to be directly employed by the club for our opinions to carry weight then you may as well shut down this site.

So what "facts" do we know?

facts are Pardew has said several times that no fee has been agreed and he doesn't have a release clause anymore so it's not a simple transfer when his loan finishes.

My guess is if QPR are in the Championship next year he'll go for 8million, if we are promoted he'll go for a lot more.

So why would we only sell him for £8 million if we don't get promoted? He's currently a PL player scoring goals regularly - wouldn't we ask for double that?

maybe because no one would want to buy a guy on a rape charge!

my guess is that it is £6 mill plus £2 mill for loan

if not why doesnt harry tony or someone come out and say remy is still a QPR player theres no fee agreed and that his future will be decided at the end of the season

all im hearing is silence which makes me think they know they are losing a star for peanuts

What a stupid statement! Honestly there is a bunch of rubbish being bandied about on this thread as if its fact, when all it is is guesswork! We have loaned Remy out for the season to Newcastle. A loan is a loan. Not a sale. Everyone knows that is a temporary thing. All this ITK crap is just talk. They loaned him out coz nobody would give the kind of money they wanted to a bloke facing rape charges. In that situation, they wanted his salary off the books and the option for him to come back and play for us if we are promoted. They said that at the time. Why would they feel the need to come out half a season later and say the exact same thing. Its not like he has been making statements or Newcastle have been making statements. He has been scoring a lot of goals in the Prem and they are probably thinking, if we are promoted he will make a good partner to Austin.

Not necessarily, depends on the wording of the clause and whether it is still effective. As stated above, Arsenal offered £1 above Suarez's release clause but this didn't mean that Liverpool were obliged to sell.

Err. No. Read Jeff's post above yours. Suarez didn't have a release clause.

If he did have a genuine release clause he would have been allowed to speak with Arsenal. It would have been breach of contract by Liverpool if they had prevented him. His clause was cleverly slightly different.

I don't know if Remy has a genuine release clause or not. I've not seen his contract funnily enough. BUT, if he does and someone offers £8m then we have to let him discuss terms and he will chose where he goes not us. That is law.

But the point is, you don't know if he has a release clause. There was nothing about a release clause in any of the discussions when he signed and nothing about a release clause when we loaned him out. People are just speculating wildly. Which is fine. That is the point of a messageboard after all. What I find galling, is when people start getting irate and slagging off management (I am not talking about you -- you didn't do that, but others have) and acting like management are incompetent based on guesswork. What Tony did ay was that he wanted to loan Remy out to get his high salary off our books and so that if we came back to the Prem, he would play for us again. Of course, Tony might be lying, but without any evidence that he is lying, there is no point jumping to that conclusion.

I know. I get that. It's why I specifically said I don't know whether there is a release clause in place in both my posts.

But there are some people kidding themselves about the impact such a clause would have.

We don't know what clause, if any, exists. If a genuine release clause does exist then we have no power and will get £8m. That's the point of them: remove the ability for a club to hold onto a player regardless. It's attractive to a player and is often used to lure players you may not otherwise have been able to sign. Did we do it with Remy? I don't know. It's possible. I bloody hope not because he'll be worth about £16-20m come the end if he doesn't go down for rape, which I think is highly unlikely given the time elapsed (which indicates the police are struggling for evidence to persuade the CPS there is a case to prosecute).

I think we should bid £15m for him.

Hi,
Can I play the fanstay game as well?

We do not go up, we shall end up loaning him out for another season for £3m to Arsenal with Wenger being savy by adding an option to buy for £11m no doubt.

And much of this dialogue stems from my question yesterday to Jeff "and where do you get this understanding""???
The reality is that a site like this relies on speculation and interpretation. No problem with that! What pisses me off is small-minded egotists who try to make out they know something they don't !
