What I don’t get is his supposed demand for “heavy metal football”.

Yesterday was full of slow, ponderous Martin stuff at its very worst.
When Pochettino took over from Adkins, he had our players charging around like crazed lunatics pretty much from the first game. Worked a treat.

I have to say, I am not sure about this manager. I agree that it was strange not to start with a striker. Surely Tall Paul was perfect to start against a physical Burnley side. He reminds me slightly of Puel. He's a bit snappy, a bit irritating. However, he has taken over a poor team, a bunch of players low in confidence, a club in chaos, and players wanting to leave. As you know, I am also fed up of keep swapping managers when ultimately in my opinion, the problem is the owners. [Post edited 9 Feb 23:31]

If we still had something to play for, I would understand resting some off the players, but we don't.
This was an opportunity to play the best 11 to get them playing how Juric wants, and put in solid performance and structure, rather than 11 misfits looking all over the place.
As for next year, it will be a struggle. One positive, is that we don't have to worry about any players being poached or seeking a move. Other than. Fernandes and Ramsdale, they can all go and we start again. (assuming we keep funds to re-invest from sales and it doesn't go to Goztepe ) [Post edited 10 Feb 7:39]
