I am a bit surprised by your stance on this one, Nick.

A week or so ago, you said that it made good sense to loan Sulemana out for the rest of the season and trim the wage bill. Even if it was to Goztepe, which I found staggering logic.

As some may recall, I have been far from Sulemana's biggest fan.

However he has (almost miraculously) come good in the last few weeks, and now looks a threat. Possibly our main threat.

Whereas Armstrong (who was excellent last season) just doesn't look up to this level.

So I actually see some sense in this loan move. He gets to play and hopefully score goals for West Brom and get some of his mojo back for us for next season.

How does it make sense to loan Sulemana out but not Armstrong??

In mid January Sulemana had barely had a decent game for this club in almost 2 years, a goal against Swansea in the cup saw him start at United on 16th January and play his best game in memory, an alright showing in the last 30 minutes against Forest and a late burst against Ipswich are promising, he looks a threat, but not yet enough to declare him the saviour of Southampton FC, likewise Tall Paul, wasn't in the game at Ipswich, but the winner gave him a good mark in the player ratings.

I hope Sulemana comes good but even a week ago, one good performance against Manchester United, plus a short burst at Forest was hardly ground breaking

He was good against Swansea as well.

Or do Cup games not count again (Broja rule)?

What a stupid move.

Tall Paul has had injuries, Archer can’t hack it and I’m not sure whether Ross Stewart is still alive and we loan out Armstrong

Still at least we bought Juan for Goztepe where he has 6 goals and 4 assists in 19 games

You couldn’t make it up 😔

Cam Archer , Dibling, Joe Aribo and Bedders have either scored the same amount or more than Armstrong this season...he won't be missed.

Absolutely Matt,he’s useful from the bench.
We wouldn’t be in the Premiership if it wasn’t for him.

I think it’s a good move, has not cut the mustard in the prem ever. Loved him last season and may love him next season. Maybe nick is letting his emotions dictate here, but Sulemana is different league and we may have a manager who can get a tune from him now. This move is completely logical.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

I would be inclined to ask why we didn't invoke a loan recall on Juan, if:-

- Turkey wasn't a schmuck league, and;
- Ankersen would have kicked up a stink about it harming Goztepe's chances of getting into Europe

My only concern about AA going out on loan is that it leaves us short of strikers.
But with AA's poor goalscoring record in Premier lge we ain't going to miss him.
Alright he does run around a lot but he just lacks the quality required for this level.

Imo I thought Tall Paul I did ok up front at Ipswich, he gives defenders and keeper an out ball, he often won balls hit up to him,and if he didn’t frequently did enough to put off defender off so we could pick up second ball, so not sure why you say he wasn’t in the game

With Sulemana looks like someone has told him it’s ok to run at players and take them on rather than passing it sideways after a short run

Adam Armstrong is a good championship player, but in one and a half seasons in Premier league he has been shown he’s not good enough for this league

He runs around a lot out wide which I don't thinks suits him, I'd prefer him in the middle with Tall Paul.
Anyway that's water under the bridge now.
Worries me we are a couple of injuries away from a crisis up front.

It's pretty critical already Grumps. Yes, let's get ready for the Championship, but please don't forget Mr Owner that we're supposed to be a Premier League club and currently the joke club in probably the whole 4 divisions as we keep being reminded in a very public way of of how cr@p we are

Armstrong could well score goals that promote WBA while we go the other way.

Let’s see what Sulemana does now he knows he’s ‘stuck’ at Southampton till the end of the season.

If only he had Adam Armstrong’s attitude.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.
