Gavin Bazunu To Go Out On Loan To Regain Match Fitness on 10:06 - Jan 24 with 318 views | City_boy | Hope he gets some coaching as well as fitness, to help stop shots outside the box, manage crosses and stop gifting goals away by p***ng around at the back. I have probably seen enough for Saints to just let him go. He is a liability, and definitely not Prem standard. There are better keepers around in Championship. Mention has been of the unbeaten run last season, but we still let in 63 goals, one of the worst in that division.

In fairness to him he was under instruction to pass the ball around at the back im sure he will not need coaching to stop doing that. In the unbeaten 23 game run in the league, we let 15 goals in the 23 games, that is a decent ratio, 3 of those goals came in 1 game, the 5-3 win over Huddersfield. That is an average of 0.65 per game, Leicester averaged 0.89 conceded for the season, Ipswich 1.23, Leeds 0.93. Our total season average was 1.36 During that run we were a good defence, the problem came when we overplayed from February until the final game of the season when from Leeds away in that game and the 3 play off games we conceded just once, that a late consolation for West brom. The issue last season wasn't the keeper, as McCarthy played in the play offs etc, but the way we were forced to play at the back by Martin and that was the issue this season too

Bazunu clearly struggles to save shots. It's was as clear as day. Don't think it had much to do with him playing out from the back . The stats as other posters previously highlighted, showed he was the worst keeper in the Championship for shots to saves ratio and yet despite that we still finished fourth. Best of luck to the lad and hopefully he improves. Preferably at another club. I'd go for Johansson at Stoke. Great keeper at Rotherham and now topping the Championship charts for saves this season too.
