Well done Rangers, this has been a much needed run of form. I think it’s definitely eased some of the pressure and lifted the mood.

Well Done Rangers - again. 1st half was just strange by both sides, 2nd a lot better. Oxford were weirdly awful.
Geographically speaking, we seem strong in the South this season don't we (Portsmouth excepted)? A shame that the Championship is (still) such a Northern league really... [Post edited 11 Dec 22:50]

But that first half worried me. |
We couldn’t play any worse than the first half: a half competent opponent would’ve dominated us.
Luckily we played a lot better after the break whereas Oxford remained at the same level. Field was excellent, centre backs dominant as usual. Varane decent again.
Attendance seemed low, loads of empty seats in Stan Bowles Stand.

Dreadful first 45 mins from both sides. Marti obviously had words and we just raised our game slightly and deserved the 3pts.
I can’t remember watching such a dreadful side as Oxford. How on earth did they make their way into the Championship. The most clueless bunch of professional footballers I’ve seen. Literally spent 97 mins passing the ball across their box.

Me too. Once again a poor opponent dragged us down to their level which happens far too often particularly against promoted sides.
Thankfully we couldn't get any worse and did wake up in the second half and got a rare win over a team up from league 1. |  | | |

They were dreadful from start to finish.
However their head coach doesn’t think so lol:

Had an indifferent start to the season, but has picked up the physicality and pace of the league, a very good acquisition. He looks like a good player, calm, composed and confident with the ball. Both him and Morrison are a large part of our turnaround in form. | | | |

That first half was the worst half of football I've seen in years, two absolutely terrible sides. 2nd half seemed to be more of the same until the goal and we played pretty well thereafter. We truly always rise or fall to the level of the opponent. 2 good goals from Field who was far too deep first half as was Smyth. Even Saito was poor and you could tell it was going to be like that within minutes if the kick off with everything being so flat.
I thought Kolli did well again as did Lloyd when he came on though if there is a player with a poorer sense of balance in this league I'm yet to see it.

Absolutely chuffed with the win . Especially as the whole place seemed flat , players and fans on both sides which lead to the worst half of football I think I’ve seen in many a year .
I can’t remember ever , in my near 50 years of going to Rangers , the crowd cheer the blowing of the half time whistle 🤣🤣🤣.
It really made me laugh but the performance was diabolical . However I thought we were more on the front foot in second half which showed and was the difference in the end .
Oxford are weird. They were neat and tidy at times and if they had a pair of b*llocks between them then they could have taken us to the cleaners but they got themselves in good positions then stopped. I’ve never seen a team more intent on going backwards when it’s easier to go towards the oppositions goal.
Thought Kolli did ok considering he’s been unwell today and the centre backs were decent . Good goals from Field and Varane slowly growing into this division.
But the game was a total dog with fleas in a league, I’m starting to think, is of a pretty poor standard this season.
Still, keep the clean sheets coming and we’ll be ok. I’d have laughed if you’d said that to me 3 weeks ago. [Post edited 12 Dec 0:54]

I think we are being too hard on the team for the first half. Oxford absolutely flew out of the blocks at the start which was not surprising after not playing for 11 days. They were literally running around like headless chickens. True, we didn't play well but I think after Norwich, who were the polar opposite of Oxford in terms of pace, it was more difficult. No one had any time on the ball. That said, one or two players looked unable to cope with the pace of the game, including Madsen who was dispossesed on a regular basis. I was quite surprised with the booing at half time. It was obvious that Oxford were going to make it difficult for us to play and it was a matter of time before they would run out of steam and we would be able to play our game. I thought Marti did well at half-time, keeping the same players on but getting them to play higher up the pitch and spread Oxford as much as possible so that they would tire more quickly. That's exactly what I thought. We've never been great at managing the high press and that was the high press on steroids. Also they did play a lot of heading it up in the air which we got involwed in too and we tried to hoof it up the field and Kolli just doesn't have the physicality of Frey to win those battles so the ball kept pinging back. When we did best their high press they just fouled.
Those kind of tactics are anti-football and lead to a very boring spectacle. But they tired, we dealt with it better then once we scored they had to abandon it as it's a bit pointless when you're trying to score yourself. |  | | |

Woefull first half. QPR seem to lower their game when playing bottom teams rather than raising their game. Truly woeful. And our passing - all game was so poor. So many passes / flicks made without any care and often went to Oxford or even out of play. So so careless.
The 'in your face' from the get go of the past 4 matches had totally disappeared.
A better 2nd half but really we should have won that game by 5 or 6 today had we played as we have the past few weeks.
Lets hope on Saturday the team and tactics from last Saturday are played and not the team of last nights first half.
We are on a winning run at the moment but it looks to me to still be quite fragile.
But a wins a win. A point at least at Bristol needed to keep this momentum going. We are so close to mid table now but equally two poor matches and we will be deep in the DO DO again. |  | | |
