We can't afford to be charitable. Pretty much the sole reason we bought Madsen was for his penalties. Then Smyth buys a suspect penalty and we hand it to... one of the worst ever strikers to pull on the Hoops. Only QPR

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:50 - Nov 23 with 1742 views | DaBurgh | I have watch all sorts of sports in my many years and I can honestly say that I have never seen a team so incredibly unlucky as our R's. Normally you get the rub of the green every now and then, 50/50 chances drop in your favor. The goalie makes an error, but know. It would be funny if it wasn't so annoying. [Post edited 23 Nov 15:51]

If he wasn't our designated penalty taker, it absolutely shouldn't have happened, I agree.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:52 - Nov 23 with 1566 views | benhurst | Well aside from about two minutes in the middle we've been by far the better team and a decent improvement on before the break. Typical typical typical. Madsen has been much better today, Ashby's also been quite good out of position, assuming Paal comes on later I wouldn't be surprised to see Dunne go off instead of him.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:53 - Nov 23 with 1511 views | THEBUSH | We are playing ok, but obviously, individual errors have cost us dearly. Still that doesn't hide the fact, we need a goalscorer. Why we let a centre forward, with no goals and no confidence, take the penalty? Marti, sort it out.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:54 - Nov 23 with 1485 views | kensalriser | Stoke have been pretty rank but managed to score their only decent chance. We've had the bulk of the attacking play and nothing to show for it. There won't be many less difficult games, so if we can't win this my conclusion is we're probably going down.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:54 - Nov 23 with 1463 views | QPunkR | Pros - Saito, Varane and even Madsen early on looking good in patches. One of Smyth's dives has finally resulted in a penalty. Stoke had 2 shots on target but we're only 0-1 down! Cons - stupid, stupid QPR. Celar. First shot on target by the oppo, like every week, results in a goal. Celar. Any attempted pass, cross or shot from Smyth. Letting Celar take a penalty over someone who actually has ability in that department.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:54 - Nov 23 with 1452 views | Dorse | We really are as easy as a fcking two pice jigsaw. The thing that has raised the temperature of my piss to something approximately the same as that of a McDonald's apple pie / surface of the sun, is that this fcking performance is probably going to result in the club sacking Marti and setting the whole cnting merry-go-round off again. Big 45 minutes for the Cnt Cavalcade that is QPR 2024/25. Fuxache. It's bastard Stoke not AC Milan!

Celar shouldn't be the designated taker if he's not the best option on the pitch. Which he wasn't.

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:56 - Nov 23 with 1346 views | Malintabuk | And here we are again...............staring at another defeat due to us being so far out of our depth in this league with this team. It is a poor reflection when your most productive forward is........Smyth and he is barely above useless. I was honestly thinking that Celar was just lacking confidence and before that penalty, though he didn't do a great deal, he looked lively, since that miss he as reverted back to kind..........hopeless The fare here is a true reflection of the weather, totally depressing and grim. We have played some decent football in these conditions, but again never looked like scoring. OK we have injuries but this is beyond belief that a professional club looks so bad in the final 3rd...... The 2nd half will degenerate into sh!thousery by Stoke, and they will most like come away with a 0-2 result............if that happens I expect Marti to be gone, if he had input in our summer signings he deserves to go, if he didn't, he will simply be the fall guy.........

Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:40 - Nov 23 by Spaceman_P | i feel sorry for him too, clearly is all about confidence.... but hell man, take your chances |
I do too but when I saw Celar stepping up to take the pen, I felt at best it was 50 50 to score. Madsen rifled his one pen for us so far. Give it to him. Easy to say after the event though, but Celar missing the pen and at the Loft End too, that's going to hit hard and was an unnecessary position to put him in. Bad decision by whoever decided the penalty taker. It's only going to make it worse for the guy. [Post edited 23 Nov 15:58]

He did, as did Varane. Take whatever positive you can from our impending doom. We can’t score and concede for fun. Not hard to figure the consequences.
Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread on 15:57 - Nov 23 with 1308 views | SteveB | We have become so accustomed to the lower levels of mediocrity, over the last 2 years, we now cannot recognise absolute shit. We think our keeper is half decent, a few 7/10 performances, on Clive's ratings? No, he is shit, but makes the odd save. Every player in hoops out there, dogshit. Manager, Not quite dogshit Coaching staff, Dogshit. The whole club reeks of abject failure. Dog shit. Anyway, we will win 2-1. Dogshit. Come on you R's

Well, he could be brilliant at them for all I know. Still, I'd have thought that Madsen was the safer option today.
