Went into town this morning for a pub breakfast. Haven’t been in for ages but was shocked at how many people there were just off their tits drugged up lying in doorways etc. There was one bloke just lying in the middle of the street surrounded by cans and rubbish, he’d obviously pooed himself judging by the aroma. Everyone was just walking past him ignoring him. I tapped him on the shoulder and asked if he was alright and he told me to F off so I did.

What the hell is going on in our towns and cities?

Despite the lions share Cardiff is no bed of roses, plenty of rough sleepers and addicts about, you just won’t see it on the Welsh news.

And where I was raised, Pembrokeshire. Especially Haverfordwest. There are people who have remained stagnant there taking whatever they can since they were teenagers. Those that are still alive that is. Out of a group of some twenty plus I knew at fifteen, I would say half are dead due to alcoholism and the majority drugs. It pains me to say that our bands guitarist went from a 21 year old from Wheathampstead, who knew nothing about drugs at all to a soulless and lost individual freezing cans of special brew, putting the nigh on pure alcohol through a cheap chemistry set and mixing spreed with it before injecting the contents into any vein he could find. He died when he was twenty six.

And that was again, in the 80’s.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Went to HSBC Neath earlier , the walk past The Ambassador Hotel and then the Railway Station was an eyeopener , sadly common culture on our streets everywhere now .

Some real beauts hanging round that tanning saloon and offy across the way .

What a sight for visitors to Neath to witness at first hand and impressions made .

Appreciate there are some real unfortunates who really need help but have been left to carry on their downward spiral , Social Services are not a go to help centre anymore .

Up in Brum last year and tents pitched on grass verges along side main through roads to the City Centre , homeless and needy maybe but not a good look .

The stink of weed around my local Comprehensive School early morning is overpowering so how teachers cope and manage these pupils , how can they do it .

14 years of corrupt Tory rule.

Dreadful but true.

But Wales is governed by Labour.
25 years of corrupt labour rules in Wales is enough to turn anyone into an addict.

It’s probably from the teachers that the smell is emanating from!

Most drug dealers arrested in these parts seem to.be from the Liverpool area. Must be big business up there. Fools.

And the demand in south Wales ensures they do.
Question why people in south Wales feel the need to take drugs
No demand,no sale
You’re hatred of Liverpool is legendary

Now now. It’s a very nice city with some very nice people.
But as I said, most arrested for supplying drugs to Mid Wales seem to come from there.

You are correct about demand. There will always be a demand for drugs or drink, and there will always be those who supply for profit. The more difficult to supply, the higher the prices of the product. It's why the current policies do not work. Jail a gang and another will take it's place as long as there's a profit in it. It's just like any business that way.

Legalise, regulate and control it, and take the supply out of the hands of street dealers. Less crime, less deaths and illnesses, less demand on prisons and social services.

Does seem to have worked in Russia with its cheap supply of vodka

% of population with alcohol problems/alcoholism
Hungry 21.2%
Russia 20.9%
Belarus 18.8%

Russia has the world's highest male alcoholism at 36.9%

Nine of the ten the countries with the highest male alcoholism rates are Russia and 8 former Soviet republics.

There is a world of difference between number of alcoholics and alcohol consumption.
35% of Russia males are alcoholics the most in the world.
Which probably means the rest drink in moderation.

It's about alcoholic consumption, and those countries consume more than Russians do.
