Celar - Nothing Again on 22:08 - Oct 28 with 4661 views | joe90 | I was comparing Celar’s playing history to Frey’s, but gave up when I discovered that Frey use to play for Young Boys who play at the ‘W@nkdorf’ stadium, hahah
Celar - Nothing Again on 19:43 - Oct 29 with 4087 views | londonscottish | I was amazed that he actually managed to get into an offside position against Burnley. Because the rest of the time he's always and I mean ALWAYS two yards back from whatever ball's being played in for him. Immensely frustrating to watch. So often he's in the right place and heading in the right direction. He's just always two yards short.

Celar - Nothing Again on 20:29 - Oct 29 with 3984 views | eastside_r | I've still got him filed in the box labelled 'struggling to adapt to English football'. However, his effort levels on Saturday, especially going up for headers was shocking. I get that they play more on the floor in the Balkans but he was shown up by the brief cameos of Bennie and Lloyd. 5 foot nothing Saito puts him to shame. I guess that this is in large part a confidence issue, but how long should we indulge him? Desperately needs a goal. [Post edited 29 Oct 20:30]

Celar - Nothing Again on 20:59 - Oct 29 with 3914 views | Whip_It | I hope he doesn't score - it's just going to prolong the agony. He seems to have no appetite for competition, no aerial ability, no goal instinct, doesn't hold the ball up, and I imagine his kit doesn't need washing after the game. We've tried 2 Slovenian strikers now, and they are basically ornamental at best. The quicker we move on and get someone else in, the better.

Yeah, but apart from that what do you think?

Celar - Nothing Again on 22:55 - Oct 29 with 3680 views | Lblock | It’s got to be at the stage now where his selection is seriously undermining the rest of the team. I was proper shite whilst most of the rest of my lot played at a decent standard If I had to start up front or come on due to whatever hungover emergency beset us then you could feel the confidence drain out of the other lads (when they weren't laughing about it) Some would say maybe the other 10 players should work harder then but do you seriously think todays primadonna professionals would?!? Seen some proper shit up front for us these last few decades and Celar is up there with the worst of them. He almost has my pining for the return of Dykes….. Sad times

Being Slovenian has nothing to do with it. Benjamin Sesko would destroy this division.

Dykes and/or Armstrong offered far more than this fella. He'll never be a striker in this league whilst a duck has a hole in its @rse, but it's the complete (and shocking) lack of effort that annoys me more than anything | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Celar - Nothing Again on 13:06 - Nov 1 with 2913 views | PhilmyRs | Am definitely worried by Celar and it’s not looking good but I’m surprised how quickly he has been written off. His last 2 appearances have been very poor, but Burnley away…really? Did anyone expect anything from him? Especially when we were setting up to just get a point. Quite a few substitute appearances have resulted in long hopeful punts to him - embarrassing service - yet Celar seems to be getting it for not being better in the air or closing down more. No doubt we needed a striker that didn’t rely on service and could instigate his own chances a bit but our recruitment didn’t read the obvious memo. But now we do have a striker that’s service dependent, let’s at least try and make it work and not let our midfielders and full backs off the hook for a lack of decent quality into him. Play tomorrow with decent delivery/clever passes in behind and Celar is found wanting…fair enough, I’ll be first to admit he was rubbish but let’s demand more from our midfield too. We need more control and better service. Don’t let them off the hook by focussing on the one fit striker.

There's a lot of sense here, but the worry is that at Burnley yes we didn't expect anything - maybe apart from running about, jumping, looking sharp? He produced 0/10 in every category and Bennie and Lloyd showed you are allowed to run about. That's where I finally came to accept that....it isn't looking good.
Celar - Nothing Again on 13:47 - Nov 1 with 2703 views | Lblock | I'm back to thinking what a sad club we are that we cannot identify a striker worthy of the name as most of our peers are able to.... one we actually own that is. I seriously would've preferred Hughill back from the Millers this summer. Even sadder is we still don't seem to have any young prospects in Dev Squad etc who we can even put on bench to cover this position. Depressing Park Rangers

He got service at home to Coventry, one of the poorer teams in the league, and was on his heels. If he’s picked then obviously I’ll get behind him and hope it’s a case he scores one and it suddenly all clicks but where I was betting that would be the case earlier in the season I’m not now.

I wouldn't mind him scoring tomorrow. A tap in to win the game down the Loft End in the 93rd minute would do me absolutely fine!

Being perhaps one of our more optimistic fans, am afraid if Mr Celar plays, I think even a shot off target is unlikely. Love to be proven wrong. Two goals - yes please !!

Agreed, much better performance, put himself about like a good centre-forward should and pressed well. Just needs a bloody goal and I thought he had one with his second-half curler. And that first-half miss was Dykes-esque.

Definitely an improved performance today. Actually looked interested for the first time this season and put himself about a bit. Amazing what a bit of effort can do for someone. Hope he now continues on an upward trajectory (I have my doubts, but desperately hope he can prove us all wrong)

You are saying that after his best performance this season by a country mile. The difference for me today was he was interested, put himself about, got in dangerous positions and was very unlucky with a great curling shot that most thought was going in. He looked like a centre forward and it's the first game he has even looked interested, let alone showing any quality like he did today. One of many performances from new players.

Yeah that was how I'd like him to have looked from the start. Seems his adjustment had a basement level that we didn't know about, but if he can move on from here maybe there's a chance. Still needs to fcuking get on with it but much more like it today. Did he have a bit of skill in front of the Loft that drew gasps, or did I completely imagine that? [Post edited 2 Nov 18:03]

I would agree with the first two sentences but how low do you set the bar if you think he’s a functioning CF. Smyth hit a great cross in but a one legged man could have done better with that golden opportunity. His best game yes, but don’t expect anything better, it’s not going to happen.
