It was going too well! Our substitutes left us unbalanced and totally unable to cope with the changes made by Steve Cooper. A really promising first half and effort from the team; followed by the not usually collapse and chaos in the second. Yes there was some bad luck, but Leicester are not a great side and once again we've lost a game we should have won.
What next? I guess the final 45 minutes or so make it inevitable that RM needs to go and go now - I mean its only Man City away next!! The managers obsession with the likes of Smallbone and Fraser are difficult to comprehend but beyond our best five or six players we are always going to struggle. Sports Republic are probably more to blame than RM, but what can save us now? | | | |

Neither Smallbone or Fraser are good enough at this level and should never have been brought on. They were such obvious weak links. |  |

Martin's substitutions always turn the game in the other team's favour. It's what he does. I guess you could make the excuse for him that our squad is so weak, but he was involved in bringing these cr@p players here. [Post edited 19 Oct 17:16]

Just like the Ipswich goal in the last minute...so we make the same stupid mistake AGAIN, and who's the coach?
Overall a better performance because we moved the ball up the pitch QUICKER, but still lost the ball too many times at the back trying to be clever again....if we played like we did in the first 20 minutes we would have won easily.

Totally wrong to bring off Archer and Fernandes, they were linking up well and looked dangerous. Aribo should have come off as he was fading. The man who didn't do his job was RM. This was the exact same mistake as against Leicester. If the players fail to follow his instructions once then shame on them. If they fail to follow his instructions twice, then shame on him. If he's not getting his instructions across then that's his fault.
Defensive coaching isn't just about telling players what to do, it's about drilling them so they act automatically without having to think about it. Whoever was supposed to be on the penalty spot had probably been told what to do but not drilled. Then when it came to crunch time, they were thinking about something else. I think Pat makes a valid point about what they should have been doing instead of taking 4 days off. | | | |
