Stumbled upon this independently made documentary of the death of George Floyd and it’s worth watching (though quite long). What a travesty of justice and abuse of justice this has been. If you’ve got the time, watch it and you’ll see it in a completely different light if you don’t already.
We are probably on the edge of a world in which AI will allow video content to be falsified, but I don't think we are quite there yet - at least not in the film we are discussing here. Suffice it to say that, embedded in the overall narrative the film seeks to construct, there are quite long unedited video clips with no commentary that aid understanding of the context of the incident, and how it developed. Much of the body cam material was not released to the public when the events were first reported. It seems perverse not to be prepared even to look at this raw material because of the source of the overall film package.

Well point 3 is debatable. Everyone wants to make Chauvin the baddie here. He didn’t seem a nice guy and many thought justice was done. But he conformed to the restraint guidelines as set out in the training manuals. Also, Floyd was up to his eyeballs on a cocktail of drugs which were in the OD range. He was complaining of not being able to breath well before being constrained. This is all documented in the doc.

I haven’t watched the video tbf but I don’t see the link between saying he can’t breathe before being contained and then being kneeled on for the best part of 9 minutes afterwards.

Oh we are there, Ai has been ued already fo falsify content, including videos.
But do you really think the clips in the documentary have been doctored? They ring true to me. It would be a big job to get a large number of manipulated clips showing multiple angles on events to mesh together as they seem to me to do. As most clips come from business webcams or police body cams any doctoring could be easily identified by comparison with original digital files still retained by the police. My comment is just about film of the arrest and the restraint preceding the death - not the later parts of the film about the impact on policing in the city.

Maybe the "reality" and complexity of the misinformation depends on the resources of those producing it?
I'm not saying this video is faked, I don't know. I do think it is possible though. There are so many lies out there, lies by rich eople. powerful people, lies by governments and corporations and not to forget the lies told by relative nobodies who infest social media and enjoy faking news, faking stories to get hits and to cause trouble.
We have on here, people who say you can't trust the MSM but they themselbves post links that we are supposed to trust and often enough when we look into them they are from very dodgy sources.
The only truth is, trust nibody and question everything.

I didn't cry ober Floyd, or Hassan. If anything I cried because we have become too used to seeing people suffer at the hands of people who are supposed to protect us.
