Form over the last 10 games on 19:09 - Mar 7 with 2492 views | ManinBlack | I agree that the form from us is better and particularly in the last five home games but I still think we are conceding too many at home despite recent defensive improvements. Since 1 January we have conceded 10 at home with Cardiff, Watford, Norwich and West Brom all scoring twice. In contrast Sheffield Wednesday have only conceded 4 at home. Clearly we still have issues to address and you will note we haven't won any of those home games we let two in. There is still much work to be done to improve defensively at home.
Form over the last 10 games on 10:40 - Mar 8 with 2212 views | nix | Blackburn have to play Ipswich, Southampton, Leeds(a) in their run in as well as Plymouth. They also have to play Leicester (a) in the last match of the season. They'll really have to turn the form table around to do anything in those matches. [Post edited 8 Mar 13:51]

The weird thing about Blackburn is that they looked really good against Newcastle in the Cup.
Form over the last 10 games on 11:00 - Mar 8 with 2147 views | GaryT | As Clive pointed out in the match report, 38 points would have kept you up in 21/22 but with 10 games to go, it's likely 48 points will send you down. What a weird season this is and a lot of it is down to us and Wednesday refusing to die.

Yes but we're the same basic team that played Stoke away, Leicester away and WBA at home.

At the risk of boring myself now, 38 would only have kept you up in 21/22 because Derby and Reading were deducted points. Otherwise 48 points or 47 and superior GD would have been required to be above the line. As there is no indication of points deductions so far this season, comparisons with seasons where there were deductions are irrelevant.

Me neither but I want us to be safe first before we worry about anyone else. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There have been a few matches when we should have done better. For example, 29 shots at goal versus 10-man Plymouth. But, the one that I shall never understand is the performance at Stoke City. The QPR team looked as though it thought the game was no more than a pre-season friendly. How on earth did that happen? Was there some sort of morale-sapping bust-up in the camp? Something else that has not come to light?

Yes that's a weird one. It was just one of those matches where no-one really played that well. We never really got going and once they scored they were never going to let us get back into it. Bristol City was so different and we played with a lot more freedom and seemingly more confidence. We seem to have carried that into all of the matches since.

Yep, I see that now. I still had it stuck in my mind that the low 40's was the target as it was in: 2018/2019 - 41 2017/2018 - 42 2015/2016 - 41 2014/2015 - 42 Unless there are points deductions every year it does suggest this league has suddenly become harder to stay in than it used to be.
