Mascot for the Day 10:30 - Jul 4 with 2528 viewsPBLOCK

Hi all

My lad turned 8 at the weekend and some of the family have clubbed together to get him the chance to be the mascot looking like the Sunderland game as we are on holiday for Ipswich

Has anyone else had their kids do it, or maybe did it themselves years ago

Any hints tips memories please let me know

He is literally bouncing off the walls in excitement

Cheers

Make sure that, in his excitement, he does not injure himself and miss the match

My brother did it a few years ago.

It is brilliant, Ebere Eze was particularly brilliant as he had Eze 10 on his back.

They show you the trophies and history of the club & let you have a kick around on the pitch before walking out with the players. A professional photographer takes photos and you get photos with the players

And then we lose, which will ruin the whole day for him.
Sorry.

But of a bump to see if anyone has anything else to add

He’s mascot on Saturday and is determined to bang a couple in at the Loft end

Charlie (he’s 8 so wonder how he got that name) can’t wait!

"he’s 8 so wonder how he got that name" - Was it after a heavy night out???!!!!

Both my lads were mascot for the R's in away games (Villa and Coventry) Both amazing experiences, Smithies was keeper at time and even found my lad after the game to give him his gloves. Got to meet all players in changing rooms before games. On the pitch etc.. Nedum was really good with one of my lads (he was captain at the time)

I am certain he will have an amazing day.

My sister, with zero interest in football, did it when we were offered it with a box we’d taken out for my 13th birthday but I was taller than most of the players by then and shy so passed.

Clarke Carlisle was captain or at least had a pic and chat with us and he was a nice guy. Looking back it would’ve been when he was going through a pretty dark time with the drink.

I hope he has a great day & it will be even more memorable if we win!
