Port Vale game 11:23 - Dec 28 with 5720 views | dawlishdale | So... do we think it will go ahead? It sounds as if we don't have too many problems at the moment, although this can change quickly in the current climate... whilst a quick glance at the PV forum suggests that they have plenty of injuries. They also have one or more covid cases, and the majority of their fans are hoping it gets called off. Are some teams "milking" the covid crisis to avoid playing until they have an injury free squad?
Port Vale game on 11:43 - Dec 28 with 5645 views | electricblue | I dare say that there will be teams using covid as an excuse to cancel a match if they have injuries.... The only way that clubs can do this is to give tests the day before or the morning of the match and say that they have so many positive tests....

It would appear to be us citing injuries and covid results meaning we could.not fulfil the fixture.

Port Vale game on 14:38 - Dec 28 with 5043 views | foreverhopefulDale | It should be Covid cases only, not injuries determining whether a match gets called off. Some hypocrisy from some managers asking to be allowed to use up to five subs. This would benefit clubs with bigger better depth of quality squads, surely.

It’s not completely irrelevant. Say, hypothetically, you have a squad of 20 ‘first team players’, 4 are injured which usually wouldn’t be a problem, but then 6 more get Covid you cannot field a team. So Covid + Injuries mean it is unplayable. However…teams (including us) should be made to use youth team/academy players to make up the numbers IMO. Unless of course they have been involved in a youth game within the previous 24hrs.
Port Vale game on 16:15 - Dec 28 with 4692 views | 442Dale | Back to a subject that has been covered recently on here, some stats Today, in three non-league divisions (National League, National Leagues North & South) 24 out of 33 matches are being played. Yesterday, in four lower non-league divisions (Northern Premier League, Southern Leagues Central & South, Isthmian Premier) 35 games out of 41 took place. In total, that’s 59 non-league games played out of a possible 74. Tomorrow, in the three EFL divisions, 10 games remain out of the 28 that were scheduled.

This has been asked about half a dozen times now! Well, maybe it plays some part in the relative stats, but imo there are other factors at play; not least, the additional time and money that full-time pros have for socialising after training instead of working at other jobs (in presumably covid-avoiding environments) [Thanks for the update btw, 442] [Post edited 28 Dec 2021 16:30]

Dunno, but you have to question testing questions.
