Ripped some carpet up and found a page with results from Saturday 24 September 1994. We won 4 - 2 away at Scarborough. Goals from Williams(2), Whitehall and Butler. Att: 1200. Anyone go? Looking through the team, two names I can't remember: Hall and Formby. bury were top of the league, Wigan bottom.
Out of our division, Newcastle, Blackburn and Nottm Forest were top of the Prem The other thing of note is Spurs having an asterisk against them stating they are to have six points deducted. Anyone remember what that was about?
Up the Dale!
The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

That was an entertaining afternoon. From memory, we had Shaun Reid and Derek Hall starting in midfield, however the introduction of Jason Peake and Alex Russell turned the game and Williams had one of his rare good games.
Hall was a regular in the lower leagues - most memorably at Hereford. Kevin Formby was a forward we turned into a left back who stayed for a couple of seasons. He arrived at the same time as Russell from Burscough.
The video may confirm we wore blue, which was strange as that was our third kit that campaign until a mid-season change from the unpopular white shirts.

It will.
I remember that Adrian Meyer tosser waving at us when Boro were 2-1 up.
We then scored three in 13 minutes and he got sent-off!
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Financial irregularities dating back to the 1980s.
Those longer in the tooth may remember that club was technically trading while insolvent, which is not allowed. Not much happened either to force the club into liquidation or boot it out of the Football League, and then the great money-train Premiership arrived, and the finance problems all went away nicely.

They didn't announce them in those days, but probably 200-300.
The crowd was only 1,201 though
It was a brilliant win, celebrated in customary drinking session that night in Scarborough. I thought about 200, were there in our end, in a very sparse crowd. I think it was pissing it down, all weekend, but we drank so much it’s possible it didn’t.
