Tough battle ahead in ongoing war with FFP - Column 16:35 - Jun 19 with 8554 viewsNorthernr

Thanks to our resident grown up in the room Simon Dorset for crunching the numbers for us. Fair warning, there's maffs and that in here...

Really good, thought-provoking piece. Thanks to all concerned.

I never thought i'd be moaning about a fixture list, how can that possibly be unfair, but is that correct, we're away on the first and the last match and only two home games in the last 7? They really do want us out of the league.

Based on this I have a couple of questions

How much is Loftus Road valued at in our books? What would it really be worth?

If the numbers add up - why don't we do what Derby and others (Villa and Sheff Wed) have done?

It looks to me that the owners have lost interest. Far cheaper to pay a fine of £20m over 10 years and, in so doing, make a clear statement that they’re massively restricted on what they can invest, than to find ways of continually pumping more cash in. The go-ahead on Warren Farm was an opportunity to make the opposite statement but progress seems to be glacial and there’s hardly a word coming out of the club about it.

TF’s whole philosophy on life is you only live once, don’t die regretting you didn’t have a go. So he has a go at everything and doesn’t worry if it goes wrong. If he has a go at 10 things and six work, as long as he makes more on the six that work than he loses on the four that fail, c’est la vie. Rather than waste too much time looking at what went wrong with the failures and trying to put it right, he would prefer to have a go at something else. I think QPR is one of the things he’s had a go at and didn’t work.

Villa and Sheff Wed have apparently done similar with less publicity,
