Supporters who can remember far back as the 1960's will be saddened to hear the passing of Joe Davis.Billy Lucas signed Joe In March 1967,and he played mainly in the 1967-1968 season at centre half or full back.Joe played in the Fa cup 4th round match ,when 4th division Swansea lost 1-0 to Arsenal in front of Swansea's biggest ever crowd at the vetch, 32,786. Unfortunatley Joe suffered a career ending injury at aldershot a few weeks later. And went back to Bristol Rovers as scout and coach, where he had played for a number of previous seasons. If you want to see a phot of Joe playing against Arsenal its on picture 107 in John Burgums book titled swansea city fc. There is also a team photo taken at york earlier in that season football league review volume 2 number 32. I enclose a link to clarify this https://brfpa.org.uk/news/ May I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
