Charlton Game 22:39 - Apr 24 with 3831 views | Rodingdale | Time for the clubs marketing part of team Rochdale to step up now. Blanket "Your Club Needs You" marketing, full page ads in the paper, bus stops, fly posting all round the town. Posters in pubs, shops, schools, council offices. Kid a quid, bring you neighbour, wife, mistress, dog, cat, Hornets fans - etc for a pound....or free!!! Pie pint and the match for a fiver!!! Flags on seats, rattles for kids. Pyrotechnics before the game. Go mad, update the fixture board, with the correct kick off time!!
Charlton Game on 23:26 - Apr 24 with 3697 views | JimmyRustler | I'm not sure the wife would be impressed if I brought the mistress but I take your point on board and hopefully the club will do the same
Charlton Game on 06:04 - Apr 25 with 3504 views | aleanddale | Normally I would agree..... in general we need to do more as a club but..... On this occasion god no... horns and flags and rattles and 200 extra kids running around during the game is not for me. Might be better just for this to be another game. We might need another home point to survive and its possible a sense of occasion might be created that distracts from the job in hand. Bah Humbug I know.

Charlton Game on 07:37 - Apr 25 with 3422 views | ColDale | I'd imagine there's a decent chance of it being televised. The games are all 5.30 for tv purposes and with the top two all sorted, it could well be the only game with something riding on it for both sides. Or results go both teams way on Saturday and it's a drab end of season game with nothing riding on it. Hopefully.

Turn the music up. Vuvuzelas given out upon entry to the ground. A drum in every stand. Face paint compulsory. A flag on every seat and ball boys to carry huge ones behind both goals. Replace mushy peas with Mac and Cheese. DJ Dave Sweetmore to be situated on the centre circle before the match, playing out some kickin' choons from the 80s and 90s (including a Saturn 5 megamix). Okay but seriously, this is amazing "...its possible a sense of occasion might be created that distracts from the job in hand. " You're clearly going to be as stressed as I will. A sense of occasion might ease things. The acceptable levels of fun must be raised.

Think we will all be nervous , lifting the atmosphere with some extra bods will do the team good. If we can win at Oxford we may actually enjoy the last game and then party time

Thanks for the heads up on the 5.30 KO........totally missed that, plans re-hashed. Will ITV have the final day coverage??........they'll be on the lookout for grounds where they can film fans of all ages crying as their teams are relegated....good tv. Stay away from San Spotty!
Charlton Game on 15:04 - Apr 25 with 2966 views | oddjob007 | In my 30 years, we've never been involved in final day drama, so I agreed to go on a stag to Dublin. Here's hoping it is televised! Depends on their angle... but the title may not be decided at this point... and depending on results on Sat and Tue, Scunny v Bradford may have something on it... then again, we could all 'but' be safe... too early to say! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf? |

91/92 was final day drama, twice. The official last day we needed a win at Mansfield, lost. Then the rearranged game v Burnley when everyone had finished, lost. 00/01 at Plymouth 01/02 we could have gone up automatically if results had gone our way. And last season as posted.

You lost me at vuvu fookin zelas!! seriously - it detracts from all that's good about Dale when this extra curricular nonsense ramps up. I know it sounds bah humbug from me. I can only think of Darlo in the play off second leg when it enhanced the atmosphere but that was mostly down to how we got the win.
