The Trust response on 18:51 - Dec 29 by exiledclaseboy | Give it a chance. As the statement says, there’ll be a fuller and more detailed response. The holding statement has been issued to the press as well. |
This 100% Andrew. Given the extent and intricate detail of Jenkins’ statement the last thing the Trust should do now is issue a hastily concocted response. Jenkins is clearly ‘on the ropes’ in boxing terms and floundering badly so it is vitally important that the Trust takes it’s time to peruse his statement and issue a measured, factual response which will deliver a ‘knock out’ blow to their opponent.... Jack to a Judas. #backtojack

Let's be fair here though Lisa was not on the Trust in 2016 she does not know for certain what the Trust knew or didn't know. It does seem odd why some members of the Trust pushed so hard not to go to court. Somebody is lying maybe both are who knows.

The way I see it, the Trust could type a statement, give a verbatim tape recording of it to Wathans secretary and he'd still make spelling mistakes

The Trust response on 19:30 - Dec 29 by londonlisa2001 | I've made a strong recommendation on a number of fronts :-) Let's see. But in fairness, people are working and traveling about at this time of year and it takes a little bit of time to do anything other than issue a holding statement when it comes all a bit out of the blue. I think I'd say though that the general mood is disappointed in the way that I was disappointed in Ayew's attempt to get stuck in for two of the goals at Liverpool. |
Indeed. Huw is not that dull. I bet his timing of this statement was deliberate. He had signed a manager so he goes for some public sympathy knowing his critics are on their Xmas break. The Trust have dragged their feet in the past but I think the reponse needs to thought out and agreed by all concerned. Us lot looking in from the outside need to be a bit more patient this time.

The Trust response on 22:45 - Dec 29 with 2200 views | majorraglan | The Trust have issued 1 statement and if what I have read is correct they are preparing a second. As far as I am aware, they are all volunteers who give up their time free of charge so they may not be able to drop everything, knock up, agree a statement and get it out there at the drop of a hat. Given all the other issues that are taking place, they may even have to take legal advice before going Public. On the other hand, HJ has access to what appears to be a tidy sized Marketing/ Media Team (check it out on the website) and I would have thought they would have been assisting to prepare for today’s interview, who knows, they may have even requested the questions in advance! Quite often large organisations/governments “spin” stories to inform the media, we may have seen such an attempt today. The Truth about what actually happened will eventually come out one way or the other. It is my belief that the Supporters Trust will tread a careful path as they are involved in a legal transaction for the potential sale of shares, however I can see the new supporters group(s) being a lot more vocal/hostile. Swansea is a small place, with all that’s going on if people were discussing my movements on social media etc I would be pretty uncomfortable. You could use the word Propaganda instead of spin!

Great post. The timing is not coincidental. There's no way that Jenkins just happened to do an interview with mouthpiece Wathan without the full backing of the corporate PR machine.

This is clearly spin and the majority owners and their employee have got their story out to what appears to be a sympathetic journalist. It’s a big call for them to break their silence. IMHO it’s to take the wind from the sails of the newly organised vocal opposition that seems to have rattled them. A propaganda war appears to be in full swing. Last time their version of events wasn’t challenged enough and became accepted as the truth by the majority, this time the Trust needs to challenge it with facts.

he didn't do this just with Watham. He did this with a number of media outlets - BBC, probably Pritchard. Stu James of the Guardian - hardly a mouthpiece for Jenkins. Judging by the words written in each article, they were either there together at a press conference, or it was a well rehearsed narrative by big nose.

I was not encouraging her to write the response. Just to use her undoubted abilities to contribute. If there has been any skullduggery going on in the Trust then those involved will need to be hung out to dry along with Jenkins.

If I'm correct the trust voted against these raises too. Leave no stone unturned and hang him out to dry.

I am not saying there has or hasn't been skullduggery but you have to admit certain factions within the Trust seem desperate to avoid court which increases suspicion. One question I have is if the Trust ere aware of the sale in March as they state why did they still keep it to themselves and not declare to it's members. The American interest was announced after the Chelsea game on April 9tt I think.

The Trust response on 09:12 - Dec 30 by Private_Partz | This is why the Trust Board have to get together before issuing their detailed response to the Jenkins rant. One well meaning Board member giving a car crash interview or one angry member shooting from the hip will not serve the cause in any shape whatsoever. The Trust response needs to be soon, and hard hitting, but they have to be given time to prepare it. [Post edited 30 Dec 2017 9:14]

That's the thing "The Trust response needs to be soon." Within a few days this will be a non story- may even be now for the Welsh media. Although I'm going to assume (yes, I know. I know) that the Cardiff centric media would love nothing more than our infighting/ being in on our possible implosion, so maybe a week would be fine. The Trust needs to find proper Journalists to give the statement to. Ones who will investigate as well. Maybe World wide Journos who dislike Americans, to get the story booming out. In a propaganda war, with less money available to fight against it, you need to be more cunning. I wonder, how many of those 27 want bad publicity from various media outlets? Maybe a little divide and conquer. Especially if their shares when added to the Trusts outweigh Jase and Stevie boys bit in us. Personally speaking. I do believe the Trust could do with hiring a PR/ media specialist just for a few months. Especially if legal action is going to be on the agenda. Yes I know it'll cost, but so will losing. And the p1sspoor deal under negotiation is definitely us losing

Exactly. Wage war on more than one front. A bit like The Trust is the Labour party and the supporters groups do like momentum did in the Election campaign and beyond.

I dont have exact dates to hand but the Trust were told of the interest in mid March. At which point we asked to see details - given right at the end of March A meeting was held with Levien on 9th April (Chelsea game) and a forum held the following Thursday (from memory) as well as an online Q&A There have been plenty of times where things could have been reacted to quicker but this certainly wasnt one of them
