Any ideas?

Edit. Ignore the context, just the result. When was the last time we did better than 5-1?

My 30th birthday!

Great present that was, and it was also played on the hottest recorded day in the UK in history. People fainting in the stands, kids being sick, the game that had everything

Blackpool chose to wear their all black away kit, because of the clash of hoops and tangerine.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Didn't we beat Palace 6-0 a couple of decades ago. Or are you talking about legit games only?!

We beat Forest 5-2 just before the Wembley play off game. Five players also scored that day, two of whom played yesterday.

Before that, we beat Exeter away 5-0 in Aug 2009, Barnsley 5-2 in Sept 2009 and Blackpool 5-0 in Aug 2003. I think that's correct??

Are we saying that yesterday was our biggest win in twelve and a half years?

I remember that 6-1 in 1969. A newspaper cartoon had two kids eating sticks of Blackpool Rock, with one saying "'Ere, mine says 'Rodney Marsh' all through it." He got a hat-trick that night.

One of our posters has an avatar of Rodney framed in the floodlights by a thrown toilet roll. That pic came from that game.

Ah, true.

We beat Exeter 5-0 in the League Cup on 11/8/09.

Thanks, Smeg.

Is a 5-1 win bigger than a 4-0 win?

The way I look at that is "would I rather lose 0-4 or 1-5?", and I'd definitely prefer 0-4.

Interesting perspective!

I guess on the basis that after one game a team with a 5-1 win would be higher in the table than a team with a 4-0 win on goals scored the 5-1 has it - but the team with the 4-0 defeat would be lower than the team with the 5-1 defeat.
