Agree to an extent but as our well-paid captain who we can't/won't shift I don't see any other way. (Unless you'd rather we dropped Hall for him).
In a good well-drilled defence he doesn't have to be a complete liability at this level.

No one else gone yet. Sandro failed a medical so still with us, Hoiletts contract runs out today so no idea what he is doing. i think Fer and Caulker will go this summer. |
If a player fails a medical due to injury incurred during playing, training, or otherwise on club business, well that happens. Not their fault.
If they fail a medical due to being best client at the local greasy burger joint, then contracts should reduce wages accordingly. Some obligation to keep fit to play clause? |  | | |
