The 2016 Assembly Elections: Which way will you be voting & why? on 15:33 - May 11 by londonlisa2001
So the first act of the caring sharing new vision for Wales socialists of Plaid is to get together with the conservatives and UKIP to create chaos then.
Well done, you pack of self serving pathetic little drones. That's definitely a reflection of what the 'People of Wales' want - a leader that would have to be propped up by bloody UKIP.
All those who see Leanne Wood as out for anything other than her own personal ambition hang your heads in utter shame.
Edited to add - well done Kirsty Williams for stating that she doesnt believe that her role in the Welsh Government is to support a rag tag coalition that includes UKIP - shame that the leader of Wales' national party doesn't share your conscience. That's what actual desire to serve the Welsh public rather than yourself looks like.

While the Cardiff Bay chaos today is actually quite amusing it is remarkable that socialist Leanne's first act is to team up with Tories and (worse) UKIP for nakedly political reasons. And a bit pathetic. After all, who should be FM? The leader of the party with one short of half the seats in the entire assembly or, um, someone else?

Your party has just lost any possible shred of credibility they had to the naked ambition of a third rate politician.
You are wrong on the opera house and if you could remove that massive chip from your shoulder you could possibly recognise that.
To plagiarise Churchill, if we don't spend on the things that make Wales world class, like our music and our culture, what are we bothering to keep everyone alive in the first place?
We spend more in Wales on the NHS than every other part of the UK. But it is never ending - there is always another machine that can be bought. If they didn't waste so much money on nonsense like free prescriptions for the middle classes, or free bananas in school, then we could spend money on the things you mention.
I agree about the Cardiff bias - I was thrilled to see Plaid change that by launching their manifesto from the Cardiff City Stadium.
But don't for one second pretend that trying to get together with UKIP is anything other than bloody disgraceful.
Chip on shoulder? I take the same viewpoint as Labour’s Peter Law/Llew Smith i.e. money should be spent on things that are more urgent that are actually DESPERATELY NEEDED. Nice to see Llew embarrassing his own party on Dragons Eye when it came to the proposed (his words 1mph 'Noddy-car') transport system that was scrapped out of sheer embarrassment. Tens of millions of waste saved.
Call Llew Mr Common-Sense, because he would much prefer LIFE SAVING and LIFE CHANGING facilities that people actually want/desperately need and are not a complete and utter waste of money.

From what I understand, she hasn't. Plaid have no agreement with the Tories and UKIP. They just voted the same way. Carwyn will get in the second time round but he's got a bloody nose.
Labour's arrogance has caught up with them. Plaid have acted naively and Kirsty Williams is disingenuous. All-in-all another great day in Welsh politics.

I'd normally agree with the amusing bit, but I am sick to the back teeth of Wales' politicians behaving like infants. We are a laughing stock and deserve every bit of shafting that we get from Westminster if we cannot behave like a grown up country.

I've never voted Welsh labour in my life.
Now run along and see what your friend that nice Mr Hamilton is doing why don't you,

Ah the cyber-nat line straight off the press.
Yeah there was no agreement, Leanne was just flattered that all the other opposition parties nominated her instead of their own leaders as per usual. If you genuinely believe that Plaid's stunt wasn't co-ordinated you are either too dumb to breath unaided or inconceivably naive. Neil Hamilton has already said that Plaid informed UKIP of their intentions so there's that bubble burst.
Labour's arrogance of winning the election you mean? Yeah how dare they think they have the right to run the country after gaining almost half the seats in the Sennedd.

Sorry but that is disingenuous rubbish.
She shouldn't have stood in the first place - it makes them look like fools.
Like it or not, Labour has the mandate to form the government - Plaid have 12 seats and could only form any coalition with UKIP and the conservatives. They should have accepted that not played like children with such an issue.
Her ambition and desire to be the poor man's Nicola Sturgeon has made them a joke.

I am going to sit back and see what happens. If the complete and utter lack of common sense continues from WAG, party in power, any party in opposition shame on them!
UKIP?....I am not a UKIP voter however I see the reason why its become popular especially among my construction industry 'kith-n-kin' (genuine reasons for) and will say what an atrocious start UKIP's had to WAG life arguing among themselves. Heaven help us!
What a common sense free world we now live in? Like the bank manager whom asked us to keep the noise because it was “upsetting his staff”. I mean we were completely out of ‘flour and water’ that day and had to affix that adjoining heavily tonnage steel structure thingy means of an Hilti drill, anchor thread and M20’s………….Oh but his shirt and tie and vocabulary was so impressive!

Sadly Wales is full of small minded self obsessed jumped up little villagers, incapable of handling power, and many of them end up in politics. The remainder think Wales begins and ends with what can be viewed from Cardiff Bay. I supported devolution in blind hope.
Having seen the outcome, I was in error. We couldn't be worse off with none of these posturing numpties.

I was a fervent supporter of devolution.
I was wrong, not to think that the principle is a good one, but to assume that it would ever turn into a grown up government.
Today the Welsh Assembly have scraped the absolute bottom of the barrel.
Thank God that one of them knows that she is there to serve the people and understands that responsibility should not be taken lightly. A lot have spoken about the possibility of Kirsty Williams being the future leader of the Lib Dems and I can see why. Leanne Wood has shown herself for exactly what she is.

Like I, and many others, have been saying - Plaid are populist nationalists. They are NOT socialists. They will say and do anything to get into power and eventually see an independent Wales.
Is that clear to everyone now?
P.S. well done to the Lib Dems who handled the situation with class and foresight. To be fair, their election campaign in my constituency during the Assembly elections was handled the same way.

You've spent the last God knows how long urging everyone to vote for PlaidKip.
Make up your mind or didn't you recognise Monmouth's description of them?
I want the Labour Party to thrive and have common sense that belongs to Planet-Earth. My preferable (I mentioned previously) outcome (best of shit list of choices) would be a Labour/Plaid coalition that (possibly?) as a better chance of saving Labour from itself . Then just maybe Labour could become a less Cardiff centric common sense party of Peter Law, Llew Smith ideals.......Of which are moral, justifiable and good. Nothing wrong that IMO.
Yeah and if Plaid/UKIP had a good election result? Great........ Because IMO any kicking would do Labour a favour bringing it back to reality. Reality that could give a Hospital a new car park build instead of an artists impression?

You seem to consistently ignore the fact that the Welsh Government spends the highest proportion of its budget on health when compared to all other devolved nations.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't spend more, but to continually imply that Labour prefers an artist impression to spending on hospitals is ridiculous.

I continue to be proud of my party's consistent record of doing the right thing by the voter and respecting democracy. Kirsty has never let us card carrying Lib Dems down and so has not surprised me here....it is a sad reflection on British and Welsh politics that doing the right thing is now seen as an act worthy of praise.
I also find the fact that Labour supporters are queuing up to slag off Leanne and praise Kirsty in this situation amusing....as I would wager that some of the same Labour supporters making that argument on this very thread will have made numerous posts criticising us Lib Dems for joining a coalition with the Tories at Westminster in 2010. Funny that, as back then (just as now) we respected democracy and did a deal with the party who had achieved the most votes and the most seats....yet were castigated by the Labour party supporters in the most strident terms, even our morals were questioned.
Somebody mentioned that hopefully the Welsh electorate won't forget what Kirsty did this week.....I can guarantee (as I suspect the poster himself knows) that they will.
Labour, the Tories, UKIP , Plaid....they are all just as ruthless, ambitious and cut throat as one another. The electorate gets the representatives in government that they deserve.
Unfortunately, in our Welsh Assembly, there is only 1 representative left from the party who does the right thing.

I hear what you're saying, but I think this is totally different to the 2010 general election that saw the Tories and Lib Dems become a coalition in Westminster.
Here in Wales, Leanne Wood advertised her party as the complete antithesis of the Conservatives and UKIP, to the point where you could never imagine that Plaid would do a deal with Neil Hamilton to become the First Minister, which one can assume would mean that they would have to concede policy to both the Tories and UKIP.
She is a populist fraud, and hopefully people will now realise that.

She attempted to do exactly what Alex Salmond did in Scotland.
When you are the smaller, newer, party you; a) don't have the broad base support of the electorate and the accompanying boost to number of activists etc. b) don't have anywhere near the same amount of resources at your disposal (e.g. the Labour party bus-ing members from England in to campaign and knock doors in these Welsh elections just gone) & c) Don't have the same profile or platform in the media.
Salmond seized his chance to form a rainbow coalition in Scotland which meant that he was the First Minister....which gave him the platform to increase his profile and grow support for the party.....when the tide began to turn in the SNP's favour the donors coming forward and the campaign resources generated from the increased membership increased. The next election they won and they've been in government ever since.
Totally cynical....not a lot to do with principles. The ends justify the means. When you are single minded (a nationalist yearning for independence) it is easier to hold your nose.
We have always respected the electorate and done the right thing. We have been shat on for it.
On the coalition deal.....you are only seeing things from your point of view. If you were an English Tory voter whose party had secured the most votes and the most seats you wouldn't feel like that. In a first past the post system it was fair that the Tories were the dominant partner in a coalition government in 2010. If we moved to PR then that would be a different matter and we would pretty much always have a coalition government.

Plaid hasn't done a deal with anyone. They told Carwyn Jones yesterday that they'd be proposing Leanne for First Minister because Labour refused to discuss any cooperation with Plaid for the term of this Assembly, although they have no majority. The Tories and UKIP decided independently to support Leanne to show Labour that they can't just take other parties for granted. A shot across Labour's bows. Labour has chosen to govern as a minority government. That's their right, but they have to accept the risks, too, in a multi-party democracy.
