BBC have just announced that Jezza has been suspended after a fracas with a BBC producer.

If they cancel Top Gear they can whistle for the TV licence, its the only thing worth watching on the BBC

Okay, I give up. Britain isn't really dominated by white, middle-class males. There may be a lot of second-generation Indian Doctors, Accountants, Opticians etc, but are they running the country? Which of our institutions aren't dominated by white males? Go for a drive round the prosperous parts of the home counties and tell me which demographic is represented disproportionately. Anyhow, I doubt you'll win me over to your viewpoint, and I've no chance with you, so I'm going to crack on with the work I've been neglecting.

You have work? If you neglected it any more, it would be taken into care.

So the Daily Mail doesn't drone on relentlessly about the evils of immigration and neither does the Telegraph?! Their issue with UKIP is he splits the Tory vote and lets in Labour.

Clive — my argument is that white, middle-class males dominate most powerful institutions within the UK and that therefore it’s ridiculously unattractive and self-pitying to claim you’re part of some repressed, neglected minority without representation or champions in the public sphere. If you choose to overlook the fact that Westminster, Whitehall, the City/Canary Wharf, the Judiciary, the clergy, the military, the police etc are stuffed with white, middle-class males, then there’s not a lot I can do. You’re now even trying to suggest that the Daily Mail try and repress debate around immigration, at which point that I know I’m wasting my time continuing with this conversation.

Saw James May driving a DB9 on the M25 the other day - plate: J007 MAY - " Cock ",to quote the man himself.

Obviously well paid.

I'm sorry to hear that, I thought he was quite a good self-deprating bloke. Alas anyone with a personalised number plate (unless QPR related) is a complete tw*t.

Sorry Clive, you're arguing that the views of white, middle class males are under-represented and supressed; I'm not sure how that happens when in the case of immigration (as an example), you have the Mail, Sun, Telegraph, Times and Express adopting tough stances against current levels of immigration, and only the Guardian and Independent (and Mirror?) taking the opposite stance.

The Daily Mail alone is hardly some underground, hand-printed pamphlet with a circulation of 400, so I'm not sure you can suggest anti-immigration/anti-immigrant views are unrepresented.

Any how, never mind me. I'll continue to count my blessings and you can keep feeling sorry for yourself.

In fairness, that's a new point.

They named a diesel engine after her.

Indeed so; having been a product manager for various diesel engine parts back when I had a real job (involving British factories which actually made consumables and in huge quantities), I am very familiar with said manufacturer.

What do you reckon of the Mitsubishi 4M40 diesel engines used in their MKII Shogun's/Pajero's? (no Blob, I've not got me Lurchers!)

I enjoyed you and Konk going at it. Laughed out loud quite a few times. Not that there was the slightest chance that either of you would be convinced by the other!

How on earth is that a new point Brian!!!!?

You don't strike me as a man ignorant of the history of the socialist struggle.

It's the truth of that statement that should lead people to realise that voting for UKIP, Tory or Labour makes relatively little difference as the small elite run them all.

Revolution or it's just more of the same.

Tough love when needed brother, tough love when needed. x

I must admit there was the deliberately , admittedly well hidden, ironic nuance in my 'manning up' bit around using the type of language often used by those I was discussing.

ie the whole 'bloody pissy knickered liberals always complaining' type language used by people who often themselves seem to be in a state of semi permanent complaint whilst clearly struggling with uncomfortable underwear.

I still think it's all about love though and this...

No one will find that video annoying at all. Definitely not.

Ah, sorry, I should probably address my query to Clive.

CLIVE-
I agree with you fully about an elite not caring about the average person. Me I think only fundamental change in how our power structure is run will ever see that really change.

How do you see it changing? Do you vote for traditionally right wing parties? Don't you think they're designed to maintain that system of elite control? Genuine questions, not trying to row.

I agree with you that love and gratitude are the key.

Except they do complain about everything at great length all over the place, including most of the mainstream media. They write long articles and books, and appear on TV, talking about how they're not allowed to say anything. Except they are. All the time. Everywhere.

Check out Fig 1, poverty and inequality across ethnic groups, which shows white British having the lowest levels of adult poverty and child poverty. Fig 2, highest individual incomes - white males. Your example also shows, and I quote, that inequality of income is "greatest for Chinese households".

Might have been worth looking at your source more closely.

Nice one Clive, my only point would be don't take the whole 'white guilt' thing so seriously, it's not as prevalent in real day to day life as certain media outlets (on both sides) like to pretend it is. Just another thing to keep us divided and uniting (in love and gratitude natch) to change things to benefit more people.

Hmm no direct experience of that one although I think we had a replacement diesel filter for that engine under development when I left that job.

Those were the days, when I could actually see the fruits of my labour: "Wow, look at the diesel filter on that Massey Ferguson, that's my product!" Man, I was a massive diesel bore back then. I have diversified since LOL

Oooohhhhh I like them old diesels. Not enough exposure to them on TG although they're probably ahead in the hairy chested neanderthal stakes in terms of knuckle dragging grunt.
The 2.8 was a hardy old lump, timing chain instead of belt.Good enough to tow a caravan chock full of lurchers up a 1 in 6 gradient without too much blue smoke.

So because you don't like it it's OK to say 350 million people need to take a look at themselves?
I think there are programmes that you like that I don't do you need to take a hard look at yourself? If we all liked the same things it would be a bloody boring old world.
Top Gear is an entertainment programme with cars that's all. If you actually met Clarkson (and I frequently have) you would see that he's playing a character. He's nothing like that in real life. I'm not defending him as he has stepped over the line but to say to someone that they need to look at themselves if they enjoy a TV programme is a bit steep IMO.

Good grief! 400,000 signatures in favour of the fat head. Have some folk lost leave of their senses or is it sense of their leaves? Go take a look at yourselves!

Now loosen up man and ride with the sarcasm.
