Donnelly wasn't fit to lace Bowdens boots, think you got your players mixed up.

He was limited technically with bags of effort and heart was "animal" that was my comparison really and i must say i did enjoy watching him play back then, that was around my first years watching Dale.

Donnelly and John animal Bowden in the same sentence what an insult to animal...
There is no comparison what so ever......
I remember animal doing laps around Darlingtons old ground because sutty said was not fit enough...

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

John Bowden was awesome for Dale and remember everyone wanting him to stay on - even Docherty wanted him as part of management team.

100% committed, tried every game start to finish and put himself about - that's where comparing him to George ends. He scored goals, could play anywhere and dominated games possibly good enough to start in current squad at his peak!!!

Every Team Needs A John Ryan - The Winger Who's a Ringer!!!!!

Best Animal moment ever?

When he tried to turn into a Yeti for me after scoring on his third return. York at home was good too, best shoulder barge I ever did see.

That lad up front for Mansfield last season reminded me a lot of JB, knew he wasn't the next Robbie Fowler/Daniel Sturridge but made the most of what he had and lived the football dream.

Done offside again.

Is "Done offside again" going to be a stick to beat him with this season oh negative ones?

He was offside loads v Bradfut, but speculate to accumilate and all it needs is for him to get 1/3 right every time and he will score every half of every game.

He might be 1/100 at this stage but as we all know, he is learning his trade up front. Canny buggers these L1 defenders, they actually try to keep a straight back line.

It has been bugging me too the number of times he has been offside, but I sincerely bow to your mathematical ability, and I am also sure he has a keen brain and will come even gooder (!) than he has thus far in his nth position for the Dale. Bend that run. Genius of Keith to convert him to full-back. Double genius to convert him to striker. In goal next? LOL.

In the Bradford game I thought the problem was often that the midfielders delayed the pass too long. We got into good positions and then couldn't spot the pass to put someone in - probably explains why they are (all) playing at this level rather than higher at the moment. Just my impression as I know nothing about tactics.

On the other side of the coin, if Done just waits that fraction and beats the offside more often, then the law of averages may mean he scores even more !!!!!

Don't get me wrong, I think he is doing a fantastic job, but in this respect he could improve.

Am I a moaner? No, far from it. My glass is nearly full most of the time. But say what you see. Improvements can always be made and you should never give up making those marginal gains.

Jesus saves but Beasley scores off the rebound.
