Referee and Assistant were poor. Why no VAR? Was it because the FA thought it would be 5-0 so it would make no difference.

Made hard work of it but results are what counts.Massive 3 points for us so well done Saints, wasn't pretty but I'll take these games anyway we can.Still not convinced that Valery is the answer as his defensive tracking back is leaving us very vulnerable at times but he has had some really good games.
Makes the Liverpool game very interesting as getting this result will take a little pressure of us.COYR.

This seemed to be a new formation 4-1-4-1 with Luongo just in front of the defence and Freeman playing more centrally than usual alongside Scowen. And 2 proper wingers but Hemed had a poor game. Surely his lack of mobility means he can't be selected again.
Strangely, although this was a dreadful result, Rs mostly played with spirit and dominated for long spells. but were consistently unable to deliver quality balls into the box in spite of gettng into good positions. I lost count of wasted and mis-hit crosses. And of course the defence folds whenever tested. Lynch didn't look interested.
BOS man of the match.

Great victory today. Even the darkest, most negative Saints fan will now admit, that it is now highly unlikely that we will be relegated this season.

We won today without playing particularly well; that´s something new :-)

7 victories, 3 draws and 6 losses in 16 games with RH as manager means RH point average = 1.5,

which is normally enough to land the no. 7 position in the premier league. Just lean back and think about it.

RH has done this with - at least on paper - a weakened squad compared to what Hughes had, beating 2 top 6 sides en route.

I think it´s fair to say that we have a very, very competent manager, and I hereby say cheers and share this great fact and feeling with all my fellow Saints fans. Have a great, continued week-end, everybody.

Nearly fell asleep a few times, the football was so bad! But all credit to Saints for holding firm, even though Albion didn't threaten much except for a short period in the 2nd half. Things to worry about, even while being positive about getting 3 points from a poor performance....1) Stephens was just embarrassing when he came on. 2) Ings still didn't look fit and basically contributed nothing. 3) Redmond is getting his attitude back, and that's not auspicious for his performances.

We had a formation ??? I got the impression we were making it up as we went along. No shape, no idea, no leadership. 6 points from 42 in 2019. One of the main reasons we will stay up is because there are 3 worse teams than us.
