Nick, ok I watched the game on TV, I hold my hands up to those who went, I know you will disagree with me but tonight I think we were that bad and the club have no respect for the fans hopes that I have decided I will not be renewing my season tickets! Yes you will see this as my first post, not true as I was more active when I bought shares to attend the AGM to grt rid of Rupert and lost money, I have had a season ticket since all seater and showed my faith by buying a St Mary's one a year prior with a 2 year Dell one so have had the same seat since we moved, so I am proud that I supported in div 3 (old style). I read every day with interest but can't be bothered with getting into conflict. But tonight sums it all up, why no first team, it's rubbish that they can't play 2 games a week and if you think VVD will be a saints player come 01.09.17 if not 01.02.17 you are deluded!!! No I am sorry I have lost the faith however much you claim the squad is bigger/better it's not, we've sold attacking speed and nouse for pedestrian backwards football, sorry it's completly boring to watch, we were by far the better team in the first half but how many saves did their keeper make, a big fat zero, in the second half, again a big fat zero while Frazer was worked. I believe I read that Tadic said he would play with a mask, but no we don't see him, the new "Henry" sorry he's got along way to go, oh our super signing, a goal against Sunderland but nothing else, sorry he does not seem interested!! JRod would love for him to be back but it's clear to anybody he is not fit/with if, I now cal him Rusty, very very sad but he can not start it's not fair on him? One last question, why not play your best team for the first 4 games and get through so tonight would be a nothing game? The whole philsophy does not make sense. By the way the only player with any passion tonight was Sam McQueen!

What a huge disappointment. Team picked wasn't strong enough and the front three didn't turn up. Massive opportunity to lead the group missed.

The highest rating goes to the Ref, shame the players didn't put as much effort in

What a great debut for Josh. A star in the making and "one of our own" and one in the eye for RK who never gave him a chance. Great Saints football at times with accurate passing and movement, but still woeful in front of goal, should have won by 3 or 4 goals. But great to have another clean sheet.

Very pleasing and well done to Puel with the Josh Sims surprise. The first choice fullbacks were the difference for me today.

Only downside was the usual problem in front of goal. A second goal and there is no chance of an undeserved equaliser at the end.
