TimSaint has summed the game up admirably. Martin Atkinson is usually one of the better referees but yesterday he simply tried to keep the game from boiling over however, by keeping his cards in his pocket for some of the Chelsea antics, he failed our players and once again made me wonder over the influence the "big" clubs have over match officials. Allowing Costa to ruffle our composure was surprisingly naive on the part of our players. As for Graziano Pelle, that was a major substitution error by "there's only one Ronald Koeman". To replace our speediest player with a patently lumbering striker was woeful and gave Chelsea more time at the back. To have that lumbering player try fancy tricks instead of holding the ball up as he should and could have done smacks of a distinct lack of instructions from the coaching staff. Fraser Forster let himself down by failing to make any attempt to save their first soft goal. From where I sit I had a clear view of what Fraser saw and he only had to stick a hand out and stop what was a weak shot. Very disappointing. We are not the finished article.

Beaten by a better team on the day but not helped by below par performances from Targett and Forster who seemed to have difficulty keeping his concentration. Once again our link up play was very poor and we were undone simply be being unable to keep the ball in midfield. Right now the mindset is fast one touch football but a slower more carefully structured build-ups might achieve more. A great game to watch but the refs two obvious blunders cost us the match

The sad truth is that we were beaten by a better team. I don't disagree with others who have complained about cheating and diving by Chelsea, and yes, the ball did indeed go out of play before the goal and we should have had a penalty (and its also true that Pelle wasn't up to speed), but we were still collectively second best for long periods especially in the second half (actually for almost all of it). The problem is not new. When pressed by a strong attacking team we are forced further and further back, and such counter-attacks as we do have are easily repelled. The defence never got a break because there was relentless pressure on them which the midfield could not relieve. I don't think that Saints actually played particularly badly in the second half, its just that they were unable to hold the ball in midfield. Something to work on.

Still, not ashamed to lose to a very good Chelsea team, and we march on with two very winnable matches next week.

Midfield completely overrun. Cork / Siggy did OK. has done well recently but he and Ki we're poor and outclassed by Spurs midfield today.

one of the best perfromances under JFH Hoilett was a revelation and Smithies looks like a great buy. Could not fault the team apart from not getting a third goal Impressive

Totally inept display, completely outplayed by the better team that wanted it more.
Sadie Mane was nowhere in this game and will not be missed if this game was anything to go by.Hardly any chances created in this match, Forster looked like a deer caught in the headlights, poor game from others too with the exception of VVD.
Have to turn this around quickly or we lose touch in a hurry.Coyr.

We were surprisingly awful from the first kick to the last. We were so bad that it would be pathetic to blame the referee but I did wonder why he gave a free kick EVERY time a Bournemouth player fell over.
This had an end of season feel to it - a bit disturbing only a day after the end of February. Yes - 40 points will be enough to stay up but surely we are more ambitious than that.

Utter tripe. Every Bournemouth player better than ours. Even their manager wss better than ours.
Time to stop kidding ourselves about Europe. We are not good enough and even our recent good run was played on the back foot. We have saved ourselves from relegation but whether w deserved to is another matter.
Only good point about last night is that our good neighbours are a bit close to safety.
