Sadly as many time before, we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Mbias last minute push that got them the free kick was totally unnecessary.

We gifted Villa 3 points, we gifted Fulham 3 points and we gifted Wigan 1 point.

Without our rank stupidity we would be 8 points better off - just from the last 3 games - and would most probably be looking at certain survival.

Sad.

I felt sick when Mbia clattered into Mahoney, you could see what was coming, i think the loss of Zamora was a killer blow that we did well to recover from and there were some good performances out there today.
We have made ( and ruined) our own luck this year, there are few occasions when we weren't responsible for our own demise and today was no exception.
Personally i dont care if Zamora and Taarabt are never seen in our colours again, Townsend is a star and Bosingwa is rehabilitated.

Strong sentiments Dennick!

Maybe the club should bite the bullet and send Zamora off for his hip operation now. Then allowing 6 months recovery he will be available very early next season rather than Xmas time.

He could be very useful in the Championship

I feel sorry for Townsend who is tirelss and has been in every game he's played. Mackie with skill basically. He has brought a great attitude and vigour since he came and has shown a few people up . Pity we won't keep him next season. Pity there are a few others we'll probably have to keep :(

Yup, BZ is suspended for 3 matches, so might as well have his op and give somebody who is fitter, in one piece and should be given a chance ie Bothroyd.
6 games to go - 18 points, with Stoke in freefall, Sunderland tough run in, Wigan surely cant beat it yet again.
One can only dream. .........

It was torture! In over 60 years of watching football the last 2 seasons have provided so little joy. Great strike by remy but only a small consolation for the end result. R's must be the unluckiest team on the planet. I am beginning to accept that we are just not good enough. Perhaps the most depressing factor is that our best player (by a mile) is only a loanee. There is no way Spurs will let us have him,he is destined for greatness, what committment & spirit he shows. Among the rest only Mackie comes close ,its such a shame he does not have the same skills as Andros. I am going to find it very difficult to do my usual 120 journey for the remaining games but will not give up hope until the maths are impossible.

This was a fantastic performance and Dale never looked in any danger. There was a great fluidity going forward and the two central defenders were rock solid.I am finally seeing the benefit of having Cav in the side as it allows JK to get further forward and what a strike for the 3rd goal!!

@MelakaRanger - I was upset before but now I am really sad. That's a really good point, those 8 points better off would have given so much confidence and also made all the teams around us start to panic.

I know I shouldn't, but as soon as we scored I had to put a bet on Wigan equalising. So at least I won £50, which might just pay for a ticket in the championship.

Also, why is it that almost every loan player we get seems to play with more heart than our actual contracted players. Townsend and Walker (when he was on loan to us). Such a shame we couldn't sign either of them. Look at Walker now!!

Strong sentiments maybe but not based on one match,I have doubed BZ's commitment and desire to play for us for some time, disinterest is the term that springs to mind most often in his case.
Taarapt is the most frustrating player we have had since Stan used to wander round looking for lost betting tickets, but not in the same class and the amount of times he wastes the ball is not compensated often enough with good moves or great goals to make him valuable in my book.
That said I would love to have to eat my words some time soon, your last line may well be true if he wants to play.

We were extremely poor. Bizarre choice to start with Park and Granero. Held our own for 30 mins and the first goal was a wicked deflection but after half time only one team came out. I was in the top balcony down the away end of the ground and had a great view of the travelling Rs fans. Credit to you all, you deserve better.
