Fresh ref for Derby clash - Referee Friday, 5th Oct 2018 08:36 by Clive Whittingham Bit of a rarity this weekend as we have a referee making his first ever appearance in a QPR game, this despite being on the Football League list for ten years. Referee >>> David Webb (Durham), despite being a ten year veteran of the Football League this is his first appointment with QPR. Assistants >>> Lee Venamore (Kent) and Dean Treleaven (West Sussex) Fourth Official >>> Gavin Ward (Surrey) HistoryFirst QPR appointment. StatsFairly odd career path so far for this official. He’s been on the list since 2008/09 refereeing mostly League One and League Two, with a smattering of Championship games each season. It’s only this season that he’s become a mainstay of our division with seven of his ten games so far coming in the second tier. He’s shown 25 yellows and one red so far, topped out by six yellows at Wycombe v Oxford in League One. He’s had three cardless games out of ten so far. This is his second Derby appointment following their 2-0 home win against Preston at the end of August. Last season he showed 94 yellows and three reds in 43 games, with four of those matches in the Championship. He was rewarded for his performance with the League Two play-off final between Coventry and Exeter City at Wembley.
