Saints Fans Need To Urge Franny On !
Tuesday, 11th Oct 2016 10:19

As he enters the last six days of his biggest challenge yet, Francis Benali really needs the support and messages of Saints supporters to help him home.

Francis Benali is running the equivalent of a marathon and if that is not enough then cycling another 75 miles every day as he travels between every Premier League and Championship ground.

After a week he is now in the home straight, but physically he is exhausted and it is going to be mental toughness that sees him through and just as he thrived on the support of Saints fans during some tough battles at the Dell, he now needs Saints supporters to help him home.

His family and th friends helping him on this journey are there every day for him and encourage him and give him strength to jkeep going, but now a little more is needed.

That means Saints fans sending him messages so that his support team can show him just how much his effort means to the people of this city and beyond.

Franny says that the support of his whole family is absolutely vital and that his wife Karen plays a crucial role in the event. “She’s amazing and really taking care of me.”

Karen is equally in awe of Franny and says that she is beyond proud of his efforts, his determination and his mental toughness. “He is physically the strongest person I have ever met in my life,” she said.

“He is now in pain every step he takes and it’s certainly an emotional time for us all.

"He’s really feeling the strain now but every step is a step closer to home and he’s just so determined — despite the pain he won’t give up.”

So come on Saints fans, leave a message here so his family can show him that we care and appreciate his efforts and also use the link below to leave messages and if you havent done so so far, donate.

Every pound, every penny counts, even if you can only afford £1 donate and leave him a message of support, those words could be so valuable in keeping him going to the finsh line at St Mary's on Sunday.

You can donate to Benali's Big Race and indeed follow his progress by clicking on the link below.

Saints legend and now without doubt a nationwide legend. A few of us are going to Craven Cottage on Friday to cheer him on around 13.30 . He's an amazing bloke, but Saints fans already know that, now the rest of the country knows. Need more coverge on BBC and nationwide media in general I think. Might worth email Channel 4, ITN and BBC News with links to what he is doing.

Incredible stuff Franny - we're all rooting for you and are incredibly proud of you. COYR's.

PS, when donating gift aid adds an extra couple of quid so well worth doing.

It is a shame on the national media for ignoring this. Raising the money that he has been a massive achievement but I cant help but think that he would have raised 4x the amount if he had played for a bigger team and had BBC coverage

Jesus O2, BBC did post a story about this last week but it is a shame they havent followed it up on the national news, as you point out if 'Stevie G'
or Lampard were doing it there would be more coverage. I've emialed BBC news about covering it on the national evening news - it's a long shot.....................
