Guly Heads To Chicago Tuesday, 6th Jan 2015 21:41 After leaving Saints in the summer of 2014 Brazilian striker Guly has finally signed for a new club. Ex Saints striker Guilherme “Guly” do Prado has joined American club Chicago Fire for the 2015 season in the MLS. Guy initially joined Saints in August 2010 and was technically the last signing of then Saints manager Alan Pardew, but rumour was that Guly had been forced upon Pardew and that he had been ordered to play him against Bristol Rovers. Guly sat on the bench till the final minute o injury time with Nicola Cortése allegedly phoning Pardew from the stands demanding he come on, Saints won the fixture 4- 0 yet Pardew was sacked. Guly was a good servant to Saints although certain sections of the crowd treated him appallingly at times, but he battled on and played a vital part in the back to back promotions. All in all in the league over 3 divisions he played 67 games plus 36 as sub scoring 19 times a reasonable return, in addition he played 7(1) FA Cup games scoring 3 times, 5(1) in the League cup scoring just the 1 and a single JPT Game not getting his name on the scoresheet. Now he heads to the USA and I'm sure that every Saints supporter thanks Guly for his time at the club and his contribution and wishes the 33 year old all the best with his new club.
