Not In My Lifetime Fans Interview: Neil Brownhill Thursday, 10th Jul 2014 09:06 Neil Brownhill joins us for another of our Not In My Lifetime interviews. 1)When did you become a City fan and why? I guess I'm like a lot of City fans over the years, in that, I've always been a City fan as long as I can remember. There was no "road to Damascus" experience, or "need to choose", it was always City. 2) What is your favourite City moment of all time/most treasured memory? I guess it has to be the 2014 FA Cup final. I guess your readers will wonder why ?
3) If you could bring back a former City player into this team who would it be and why? After decades of watching City, I'd like to see Big Joe Corrigan back in goals. His sheer presence would scare the life out of the modern day footballer. 4) Manuel Pellegrini, Your opinion please? The Engineer. As a 'time-served' blue, it's natural that we should panic if we go a goal down, and we fear an inevitable humiliating result. However, Pellegrini brings a sense of calm, an assurance that he has everything worked out, he has a plan. 5) Best and worst moments of last season? The best moment was the full time whistle and that sense of relief that we didn't throw it away. The worst moment was the 90 minutes before the final whistle ! 6) Transfers have already been made, but anyone else you would like to come in? Against public opinion, I'd be happy to see YaYa's replacement bought in. I don't mean sell YaYa, but to gently remind his agent / spokesperson that these endless stories are actually ruining his reputation and commercial value. Failing that, perhaps we could provide a copy of Aesop's Fable about 'the boy who cried wolf' to his agent !! 7) Any players you would happily drive to his new club? That's a tough one. Can I opt-out of that question, and offer to drive David Moyes back to Old Trafford ?? 8) Favourite current player? David Silva all the way. He's not a football player, he is a football magician !!! 9) Any players that have been let go this summer that you would have liked to stay? I like Pantilimon. He never did anything wrong, other that play 2nd fiddle to the marvellous Joe Hart. 10) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s? 1st Hero Dennis Tueart, also obviously our Big Joe Corrigan. 11) And finally, What are your expectations for the new season? I fear that with FFP limiting our spending and other clubs free of such restrictions and being able to spend like mad, mean it could be a challenging season for us.
