Dejan Lovren Hands In Transfer Request Thursday, 12th Jun 2014 08:07
Saints defender Dejan Lovren has handed in a transfer request on the eve of the World Cup,
Saints supporters will be shocked to learn that Dejan Lovren has indicated that he wants away and is the first actual squad member to confirm that in writing with a formal transfer request.
The reason is that apparently he wants to play Champions League football next season which would seem to indicate that either he was expecting Saints to be doing so this coming season when he joined or he has been tapped up by a club in the competition which would rule out ex Saints boss Mauriccio Pochettino having lured him.
Lovren would be a big miss if he were to go but Saints have again stated that no further players will leave till the new manager is in place and expressed surprise that. Anyone would be able to make a decision till they had spoken to the new man and learnt of his ambitions

Dejan has heard a rumour that Saints are about to sign Sergio Ramos, Mats Hummels

an ALLEGED email is not a formal transfer request , it is not a legal document.. If Lovern wanted to put in a transfer request he would have faxed it, and there is no indication that he has asked for transfer..only Niell (bull-shite) Ashton

Tired or reading about players leaving etc.......... Is there one piece of good news coming out of St Marys these day LOL. Think a manager needs to be appointed sooner rather than later to try and keep the peace.

If everything in the press were true then Saints would end up the richest 5-a-side team in Europe!

Refuse the request and move on, otherwise there will be others in short order I must say that the only substantial reason that I can offer for this hemorrhaging of talent is the impact of the loss of Pochettino who seems to have created an amazing loyalty amongst certain of our players who have become profoundly disgruntled and no doubt illegally approached by other clubs. While Spurs are not in the Champions League there may be a calculation being made here that they soon will be, so I won't be surprised if both Lallana and Lovren eventually end up there, if they don't go to Liverpool first. While I think we can cope with the loss of Lambert and Shaw (esp. for £30m plus sell on clause) Lallana and Lovren will be difficult to replace and the club must now prove that it is not a selling club...this may be a bloody experience for all concerned. As it happens Schneiderlein and Cork would be particularly painful losses because of their utility to the team and their established relationship with the club. Cork should be offered a contract extension immediately.

Only a couple of weeks ago, the vacant manager's position must have seemed very attractive. With all these requests (or alleged requests) to leave, any potential manager must be wondering what he would be walking in to. With all these players in Brazil, a new manager would have to sit on his hands for a number of weeks before be able to persuade players to reconsider. A messy situation at best.

I've got no doubt this story is true - Lovren, Morgan and Vic have always been the players I feared losing most and whether it's the fallout from Cortese's hyped up vision or the destabilization caused by a popular manager's exit, it looks certain we will lose a quality CB.

"Saints supporters will be shocked to learn". Sadly I think we are beyond that now. "Saints player commits his future to the club" - now that would be a surprise at the moment. I still think we need cool heads though. Yes a new manager asap but it needs to be the right one I certainly agree with Exiled on MoPo (and that AL and DL might both end up at Tottenham). Am I the only one who feels that players are rather immature over matters like this. Uncle MoPo has gone and I want to go to or I will throw my toys out of the pram.

Perhaps this is why its taking a while to find a new manager, we are presuming that they're queuing up, but with so many players clearly unhappy and deals allegedly privately done it might just be the case that no-one wants the job. Candidate " Lallana? " Interviewer "yeah, he's off" Candidate " Shaw? " Interviewer "he's going too" Candidate " Lovren, Wanyama" Interviewer "we've had transfer requests from them" Candidate "and your England striker has gone to Liverpool" Interviewer "err .. yep" Candidate "i guess there's still Schneiderlein and Chambers?" Interviewer " sure, if they don't go to Arsenal…. we've got one good keeper though" Candidate "Taxi"

Im past caring who goes now tbh. Those who want to play for the shirt will stay, those who don't can do one imo ! Roll on August and kick off !

You are all assuming that the new manager would not want to bring in his own players from day one. Possibly Koeman, or other, would relish the chance to be able to say that this is his team and not an inherited one. Also would have a substantial transfer kitty available to him. Stay positive lads. Its a re-birth not a crash!

IF this is true someone must have approached him. Don't see how he would have thought he was going to be playing Champions League this year once he got a look at the attendence and shirt sponsor. So then he would have put in a request in the winter window ( I don't think there should be!). Probably just the press stirring the pot-going down the list and picking a new name each day.

Perhaps he read the papers and saw Steve Bruce was coming. I'd be off to if that was the case.

Yesterday it was Lovren and tomorrow it will be Gaston Ramirez because Uruguay are playing. Not sure when France are first up but it will be Morgan that day, etc, etc Someone doesn't want Saints supporters to enjoy the World Cup. You can either let them beat you or enjoy the World Cup. Your choice.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Manchester City Polls |
