I'm not suggesting Curt gets involved with Williams. Much has been said of the lack of knowledge of the EFL and our clubs past and dna at board level. It is said Coleman is running around almost headless chicken like wearing many hats trying to take us forward at low cost. Curt could offer some advice on Williams' replacement.....potential candidates, and possible player targets. I wouldn't expect Curt woukd want the involvement of sorting the onfield issues at the coalface...he retired from that a while ago and since has won a battle with cancer
I'm not talking about the coaching side..more as a consultant Director of Football, helping to select Williams replacement as this looks like the course the fanbase wants and with the recruitment of players...
I wouldn't slag this site off anywhere else that's nit my style I will post my opinions and at times they are out of step I know
Is it wrong to question what is written? As I said lots of folk form their opinions on the articles which are very interesting and informative but sometimes the details are not black and white or strictly factual....like the scouting trip. If you read Colemans programme notes I think a statement is being made about Lukes future and he knows it hence his statement in his presser pre West Brom.
many are influenced by the reporting here....The articles always hint or more at having good contacts as so reliable info as a result thier options are formed ....if the info isn't actually strictly correct this can be damaging. It's a shame because there are some really good articles at times.
Given the current "mess" we appear to be in and the lack of football knowledge at our senior leadership level should Coleman approach Curt for some assistance
your report was in the past tense the word returning used indicating the trip had been made. So are you saying now the trip was cancelled? If so your report is inaccurate and so Luke was leading the training
"Alan Sheehan takes over whilst head coach Luke Williams and club Chairman Andrew Coleman, freshly back from a weekend trip to northern Holland as sporting directors, recruitment / scouting / agent type people in the midst of a transfer window"
My personal opinion is that no Williams should not be relieved of his duties at the moment. I feel he has done as well if not better than Martin with the assets at his disposal. I was very vocal about Martin....his football was dull and not result focused...I sat through a dull nil nil against Sheffield Utd with no attempt at goal.....I could go on. I wonder what Williams might have achieved with Npuroe,Patterson Natcham in his squad. Results have fallen away now late and of course losing the Derby doesn't help. As of today I'm happy to give him a little more time. But that's my own personal opinion of course and I'm aware it's out of step though even today folk have posted that the turning point for them was Bromgate.... Personally I have found William's football more entertaining than Martins but that doesn't need much but he does frustrate me at times with the inconsistency....and when we revert to pedestrian football even when he shown what we can do suchbas against QPR or when we went toe to toe with Leeds.
Another well written piece but again taking swipes at the club
I wonder if we win tomorrow will Sheehan be praised but if we lose eill Williams once agin hung out to dry?
Lots of criticism of our hardworking chairman. As the article states he is trying to do the jobs of many some of which he is not "qualified" to do such as DoF given his limited knowledge and experience of the EFL.
Again as this site has told us all is not well with your finances relating to the P and S rules so it seems Coleman is trying to do all he can to keep our costs down.
It seems we cannot afford to employ some in the role of DoF or Sporting Director but can we afford not to? Especially given our current situation with us going backwards on the pitch and seemingly not able to bring new players in.
Maybe Coleman needs to turn to our Club President and ask for his help through this time , I'm sure SIr Curt would help for a small reward as I m sure he deosnt want to watch us collapse and implode as we currently are
The question is has he been asked? Is Coleman too proud to do so?
Yes but we have Ginnelly and Parker returning so i would expect them to take his place on the bench. Whilst no purchaes the return of these two could almost be classed as "new signings".
tell me who at the club is capable of making the right choice. Since Birch we have no savvy. Coleman whilst enthusiastic and it seems fervent about the club lacks the knowledge to source a suitable candidate...his backers the same....tine to turn to Curt for advice perhaps?
for clarity...who would you replace Williams with? Why ditch him? It's all about opinions Tge Williams out gas increased since West Brom gate...fuelled by the media.
As said earlier.....who do we replace him with? What guarantee they will be better?
There is a combination of things as to where we are
look at today's bench Fulton,Naughton Christie doesn't that speak volumes especially as we signed Christie knky recently. Joe Allen starting Eom,Ronald if they were that promising surely the likes of Leeds or several PL clubs would have gambled on them Yes Williams makes errors too..yet got some good results at the start of the season whilst being labelled boring when ge has tried to be more attacking we get battered.
