Paal is a decent left back, good going forward but pretty average on the defensive side. Problem yesterday was he had nobody to pass to. Every attempt ended with Saito losing it, Koli being outmuscled, Field passing it back to Fox, JCS or Nardi. I also don't think he got much assistance from midfield tracking back. Only reason that we appeared better in the second half was not Ashby coming on, it was Chair being able to hold on to the ball. Also Swansea downed tools second half. I like Ashby but he makes too many mistakes playing at left back. As mentioned by others, there is a lot more to worry about elsewhere in the team. We seem to have a lot of players who can do it at Loftus Road but can't away. Koli and Saito are definitely 2 of those. |

This is just another boring fixed fight. Fury will jog around for 5 rounds putting a few jabs together. Usyk will get him with a few punches in the sixth which will miraculously put fury on the floor. Ref will stop it before he gets hurt so he can con the public with a last fight with AJ. Plenty of other fights to get excited about - not this farce. |

Apologies - correct , not a nasty thread. I was more commenting on the post that I replied to. However, Ashby does not need to be singled out. Koli did nothing, Saito had probably his worst game, Anderson was very poor etc. etc.. |

I’d better f*ck off then. I rate Paal and I think he made a difference when he came on. He is obviously not 100% fit hence being on the bench. He’ll be back when he is fully fit. Frankly, this is a nasty thread. Ashby tried his best and MC plays him out of position as he offers more of a physical presence than Saito. He didn’t have a great game but not many did.I also like his attitude for a loan player - never moans when he is subbed. He shouldn’t be singled out when the midfield and strikers couldn’t put 2 passes together. |

Respectfully, you might notice Morgan giving the ball away more because he doesn't always swivel and pass it backwards, he tries more forward options and not the easy way out. We haven't won at home all season and frankly the football has been dreadful. Now we have won and against a supposedly decent team, everyone seems to want to revert back to what we were doing before. I just don't get it. Yes, Field was MOM v Watford but we are going to play Oxford at home and we should stick to what we did v Norwich. Maybe bring back Field when we play a more defensive away game. |
| Forum Reply | Sam Field or no Sam Field? at 17:10 8 Dec 2024
Agree 100% MC must keep an unchanged side for Oxford game and until we start losing. We won yesterday by getting right into Norwich faces for pretty much the whole game. When we win the ball high up we need to be more positive like we were yesterday. As with Chair and JCS, Field should wait to get his place back. |

You go on and have your revolution. I won't be joining. If you want immediate success, suggest you pop down the road to Brentford or Fulham. Just have some patience. Even if we do get relegated, it might do us some good. I think we are much more likely to dissappear into the conference if the board and the owners decide that they don't need the aggro of fans protests etc. and pull out. |

Didn't see many complaining when we were signing all these players. I think most were actually complimentary about us having a clear out and a policy of signing younger, exciting players with potential. I think we need to give it more time before we start sacking everyone in sight. I believe MC is still learning about the EFL and needs to develop a plan B in line with the capabilities of the current makeshift team instead of sticking to his philosophy of playing out from the back which 9 times out of 10 gets us in trouble. |

Crazy decision. Have enjoyed watching his brand of football over the last few years. No loyalty in football anymore. Hope they get relegated now. Also hope we buck the trend and keep MC even if we get relegated. |
| Forum Reply | Celar - Nothing Again at 20:42 26 Oct 2024
He has been absolute pants so far BUT with a midfield that would rather pass back to the defenders /keeper than take a chance with a quick forward pass, he is made to look even worse if that is possible. Thought we were embarrassingly bad today. Exceptions were Cook, Nardi and Saito. Cifuentes looked ultra p'd off but he picks the team and needs to start sorting it out. Amazed that Morgan was not in the starting line up after his performance v Coventry. |
| Forum Reply | Never a straight Red Card at 21:57 29 Sep 2024
Agree completely. Ref had a shocker. Not a red card for Varane, Smyth foul was not a foul, even yellow card for whiney weiman was not a yellow card. Refs who get demoted from the Premier league are generally crap in the championship. |
| Forum Reply | City v Arsenal at 18:35 22 Sep 2024
Arsenal time-wasting is off the scale and embarrassing. Must have been 5 or 6 Arsenal players faking injury by sitting on the ground. Pathetic. Love watching Villa and Liverpool who both play attractive football - this game was shite |
| Forum Reply | Anderson at 18:23 22 Sep 2024
Surely you could see the difference he made last season. He was the missing link IMO. He's had a bad start but he has a good footballing brain. I just think he doesn't have the options open to him which makes him look slow and laboured. Needs some of the forward players / full backs making runs. Same applies with Dembele who now seems to lose the ball more often than not. Need Madsen / Field / Paal to commit more to forward runs instead of safe side to side dross that we've been playing. I think Andersen will be alot better (like most of the other players) when we get Chair back and some stability in the team. Too many changes every week IMO. |
| Forum Reply | Just Back at 21:59 21 Sep 2024
Agree with everything said - we definitely need a Hayden type player to boss the midfield. Field can't wait to pass it backwards. Madsen is a bit of a luxury - has a touch of class but not very dynamic and a bit slow. Don't know what's happened to Andersen this season - made a real difference when he came here but so far he has been so slow and ponderous. Can't play Madsen and Andersen together - no pace. I'd like to see Dembele play more central. EDB always wastes his opportunity when he is given a chance. I think Varane is getting better. We'll be alright when we get Chair back. Nardi and Frey were the standouts today. Loved Frey's sprint back down the pitch after scoring. That guy is seriously fit now. Good on him. Can't say we've deserved to win a single game so far this season but Nardi and the defence seem to keep us in games and we come on a bit stronger later on. Bit worried that MC doesn't seem to know his best team/combination yet |
| Forum Reply | Sheffield Wednesday Reflection at 20:10 14 Sep 2024
Poor performance but I thought SW pressing was quite good. Always first to the ball. Andersen looked knackered, Madsen didn't look up for the fight. Pleased that Santos had a decent enough game but I think Ashby will be playing next week. Frey got zero service and unfortunately Celar looks like a duck out of water. Just can't work out what he is good at!! Without Nardi, Dunne and Cook we'd have been slaughtered. At least they are showing spirit. |
| Forum Reply | Frey / Celar V Dykes / S Armstrong at 20:58 5 Sep 2024
Frey 12 Celar 8 Dykes 2 (both pens) Armstrong 3 (will be sub for most games when they realise he doesn't score and runs out of gas after 30 mins) |
| Forum Reply | Defending crosses at 20:36 1 Sep 2024
I wouldn't judge our ability to defend crosses on the Luton games. They have 4 or 5 huge players and probably put in more crosses than any other team. I thought we did as well as we could although there were a couple of times when Colback was marking Morris but fortunately the cheating bar steward chose to action his much practised swallow dive. What is it in these modern football shirts that, when pulled, makes the legs disappear beneath them. |
